yes...strange question :-hmmm ...if you don't want the 2D panel one can usually just erase the 2D panel section of the panel cfg (which I have done on some of my GA ..the Carenado 182RG for example)Pity one cannot do the same with VC's! :(

>yes...strange question :-hmmm ...if you don't want the 2D>panel one can usually just erase the 2D panel section of the>panel cfg AAH! - but you miss the point. The question was asked to determine those a/c that have a sufficiently complete VC that the a/c can be flown entirely from the VC . Many a/c VCs are good but not complete and you still need to refer to the 2D panel to achieve certain things. In the case of the 3 that I quoted - you can startup, naviigate, fly, land , etc using ONLY the VC.Barry

Ok ...I'm with you :)..I have a question for you ..I presume you are a VC lover and presume again you use the excellent head latency by Active camera.Does it not take you forever to switch a switch!? :-lol(this comment is half in jest and half serious :-hah )

Bill Lyon's Quadcity Challenger.

Goflight controls :)Of course it can be problematic to get them to work properly with some addons (still working on some myself).

I tend to only fly in VC, and typically will not fly an aircraft that makes it tough to do so.As has been mentioned, Bill Lyon's great Piper Tri has no 2D panel and was designed to only fly in VC.My 'new' Eaglesoft Cirrus has a choice to fly in only VC and is set-up very nicely to do that. Great airplane. The Dreamfleet Beachcraft Bonanza I only fly in VC, and is also set-up nicely. Another great airplane.I love DC-3's, but have not yet purchased the new MAAM model (used to have the origional) so don't fly the DC-3 much. Now if I had the MAAM product, it looks like I could...F1's 172F can be flown only in VC, and I do.I have four Carenado aircraft I can almost fly fully in VC, but they are a bit older model's (Cessna 210, Bonanza (which does not get much use sisnce I purchased the Dreanfleet), and Piper Dakota and 180) so I at times have to revert to 2D for a coule things. I need to try out their 182 and Stationair from what I am reading. There are a couple....After you get a good VC aircraft, you never want to fly any other way. At least I don't. I flew in 2D mode for years, and never thought anything of it...but some of these VC models are incredible and add much realism to the sim.

>I love DC-3's, but have not yet purchased the new MAAM model>(used to have the origional) so don't fly the DC-3 much. Now>if I had the MAAM product, it looks like I could...For the record, we are working on an upgrade to the R4D/DC-3A product which will add considerable functionality to the 3D panel (VC) that was not there on the original release. We are not sure yet whether this will be retroactive (i.e. whether the original models can be easily modified accordingly) or whether this will only be functional in future model versions that are due to appear presently. All this is part of making this MAAM-SIM package one of the best value-for-money packages out there today, with - we hope - as good a support system as we volunteers can manage in our free, or not-so-free, time. All this said - and I repeat my own preference from earlier threads - with Active Camera head latency enabled, which adds enormous immersion in VC mode, there is no doubt that using all clickspots in VC mode is like trying to 'pin the tail on the donkey'. Fine if you are up there in single player mode, with all the time in the world; but most of my own flying, for example, is in multiplayer mode with fifteen to twenty other DC-3 pilots all doing their best to maintain proper separation in IFR conditions, undertaking correct pattern entry procedures and so on. With no copilot (although sometimes I do have one, using FSNet!), it would be a nightmare to try to hand-fly sensibly using VC for every input. I find myself pulling the 2D panel up often, albeit briefly, to be sure that I can hit clickspots quickly and cleanly. Otherwise, with the limited spatial orientation that we inevitably have in FS, things can get messy very quickly and then all your friends start to laugh at you like maniacal hyenas. Mine do, anyway.MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]
