The snow I want to see

Featured Replies

Agree. LHSimulations was great once. Unfortunately they slowed down, not sure if anything new is in the pipeline from them yet.

Kind regards, Michael

Wow, just goes to show you what a terrific video producer can do with a ho-hum, nothing airport...

But wouldn't it be cool to have that instead of the heavy wet snow we get in P3D.

AirDailyX gave that airport really high marks.  I hope it goes on sale.  I won't get the snow I want but I'd get a nice airport.

LHSimulations Budapest is one of the greatest sceneries of its time and even exceeds the quality of 85% of airports made today. I would certainly not classify it as a "ho-hum nothing airport"!

Let me guess.... you want 64bit.

I agree it's a great airport if it wasn't for the severe stuttering every 10 seconds or so when you have road traffic enabled.

It's on sale at simmarket for 12 euro.  Richard, did you try turning things down in their control panel to see if it helped?

No stutter here with road traffic set to 12%, it stuttered with VSYNC enabled, it does not with FPS set to unlimited and vsync set to FAST in NVCP. And it is truly amazing airport.

Hmm...that's interesting so maybe time has come to give it another go.

I did remember though how even the developer confirmed the issue and that it was caused by having road traffic enabled and I have mine set to 15%

Maybe then it's road traffic in combination with something else since not everyone has this problem.

As for the show seen in the clip I agree it's very nice and exactly the snow we all would like to see in the simulator but I wonder if you really get that or if it was added afterwards to the clip.

Since precipitation is part of the core of P3D and not a local feature I can't see how it would have anything to do with this scenery but I would love to be wrong

I'm not sure if you use FTX Vector but I have secondary and tertiary roads disabled. When you fill them with traffic it goes south quickly

I do use FTX Vector but I only have highways and primary roads checked.

In this case at least for me the problem doesn't seem to be the usual one you'll get when having too much traffic by for instance having all roads checked in FTX Vector. That will normally result in bad FPS (and possibly also high VAS consumption). Instead I get this already mentioned severe stuttering every 10-15 seconds. In between the performance is great and this is also how the issue has been described by others as I recall it.

FS9, no postprocessing, nothing, nada..

Really nice clip and the snow does look amazing! And in FS9 is this only seen at Budapest meaning it is in fact thanks to the Budapest scenery you get this snow or is the same snow also seen elsewhere?

Then I guess what is seen in FS9 really isn't of much interest anymore for most people and especially not in the P3D forum but still cool to see how good it can look so thanks for sharing

In that case I can only recommend to try the VSYNC thing. I'm going to do KIAD->LHBP hop with triple 7 today so I'll let you know how it is with all bells and whistles on 3.4 hotfix 2

I don't have vsync enabled and I always use FPS set to unlimited but I will still give it a new go and see what happens because it sure is a very nice airport scenery in every other regard.

Since a couple of weeks I've started flying using a pair of Oculus Rift VR glasses so maybe something could have changed due to that as well.

Safe flight into LHBP captain
