I am considering buying both North america land class and Global vector. I'm using fsx-se and tend to fly fslabs/pmdg type aircraft. What type of performance hit will I get by adding vector vs just adding NA land class? I am concerned with VAS issues. If I bought North america landclass first and tried it out and everything is fine will adding vector increase VAS or if NA LC works fine without issues then am I safe adding vector to it? Does vector make a huge difference over LC?

I am running FSX-SE on an i5-3550K overclocked to 4.3Ghz. Vector has a very minor performance impact on my system (1-2fps) with all of the options enabled. I think part of that is due to the additional roadways that allow for increased vehicle traffic (just my guess). I run Win 10, and have never looked at my VAS usage. I don't have any PMDG or other detailed aircraft installed. Vector has a control panel that will allow you to deselect some of the primary, secondary, and tertiary roads, as well as some other items. You can use it to minimize the performance hit. I personally wouldn't do without it. It makes flying by dead reckoning possible in FSX.

Neither FTX Global Base or Open LC have made a negative performance impact on my system. I wouldn't fly without them, either.

Hope that helps.

Hi,
this is a list of NA airports that I don't have yet and that I have put on my "watch list" given the 35% off offer intil January 1st.

11S Sekiu Airport
0S9 Jefferson County International
W28 Sequim Valley Airport
05S Vernonia Municipal Airport
KCMW - Cushman Meadows
CEF4 Airdrie Airpark
KEKA - Murray Field Airport
O60 - Cloverdale Municipal Airport

Can any owner comment of any of these? I think I will end up grabbing two of three at the end.

Thanks in advance for any useful recommendation.

Sekiu is great. Small little field. Deers crossing etc. ;)

Sequim airport I find a bit boring, however there is the large photoreal area of the olympic mountains in the vicinity.

Murray airport is ok, also a small field, but at a nice location. On the plus side it has some big photoreal coastline included.

That speed isn't bad at all. Similar to a 7mbps connection

I never get over 1.5 when downloading anything from ORBX.

ASUS Prime Z490-A / i7-10700K / RTX 4080 / G.SKILL Ripjaws 32GB / Lian-Li PC-O11 Dynamic case

I have almost all those airfields listed there except Cushman Meadows and Vernonia Municipal Airport. O60 - Cloverdale Municipal Airport would be my favourite of the bunch, fantastic little airfield with a lot of charm and very good performance. I agree that W28 isn't the most exciting airfield Orbx has ever done and Jefferson County is alright, a bit legacy though with some legacy performance issues.

Can anyone explain to me what exactly I need if I want to use ORBX PAJN and PAKT sceneries?

I understand I must buy two base packages if I want to use two airport sceneries.  They are called

NA Pacific Fjords and NA Southern Alaska but when I read descriptions of each of two airport sceneries, it says I need to buy third base package called  FTX Central v3.

I am baffled!!

Aharon

FTX Central is a free download and is required to install FTX products.

I doubt it says you have to "buy" it, as that's not a product for sale... FTX central gets installed automatically and is the central management tool for all ORBX products.

Thanks all for kind answers to my question.

Aharon
