Jim I just tried to purchase ASV 5 and since I have an account with PayPal on the only credit card I use for FS stuff I couldn't buy from your site. Do you have some kind of deal with PayPal to hijack my card so PayPal gets a cut? I will give you a little time to respond before I buy The Weather Maker Pro 4 app. Also I bought your WXRE or something like that and used it with good results with FS2002. I really didn't feel like buying the new version when FS9 came out but had decided to buy the Ver. 6 you are now promoting. Too bad PayPal is in the middle here. Thats one of the reasons I've decided to quit using PayPal.John Bell

Copy/paste from www.fsstation.com :"Less than three months after ActiveSky V5 has been released, HiFi Simulations announces ActiveSky Version 6, which should be released in December 2005! ActiveSky is a comprehensive weather engine and sky graphics upgrade for MSFS 2004 that allows you to load real-time weather data into the simulator and fly with all the effects present in real life - wake turbulence, vertical air currents, fog, icing... One of the best new features of this new version is the ActiveSky Graphics software, which chooses the most realistic textures (between over 500,000) for the present weather conditions; you'll never see the same sky twice!"More info: http://sales.hifisim.com/ASv6News source: www.fsstation.com

Sure did Jim, and thanks for the very quick reply. The only thing was I didn't want to deal with PayPal in any way. I went back and got it anyway. Glad I did,,it's a very good app.LOL. The things I'll do for a good piece of software huh.John

First class product, I agree. Been on board since ActiveSky wxRE v1.0, perhaps before. As long as I can remember anyways. It was very interesting to watch the reaction to .NET during the BEV release. A bit irrational in a few instances ("Lock up the kids and dog, Martha! The neighbor's got .NET!"). Hope we forgo this this time.I also use WideFS so I hope there is no trouble with this install. I never fly without ASV.

For those of us running XP Pro is it worth downloading .Net 2.0??

>Hi John,>>I have been using .NET 2.0 with XP Home for a few weeks now.>One of my FS04 programs required it and I have not had any>problems with my whole computer system.>>FYI All: ASV6 will require .NET1.1 or higher and no, it will>not automatically install it.>>Hope this helps,>Jim>ActiveSky Sales and Support>http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg>http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpgI make my living (partially) off of .NET. It is THE future of app development on Windows - full stop. Also, many of you had the VB runtimes for years and wouldn't think twice about that - the .NET "runtime" is really no different. Additionally, for anyone wishing to escape .NET, you'll have to leave windows soon as Vista is going to TIGHTLY integrate .NET.This really reminds me of Java and how so many people were scared of it too.Hey, Thanks for giving 6 free to those who have 5 - smooth move! :-)J-

I am an avid globetrotter with my trusty Lufthansa B777F, Polar Air Cargo B744F, and Atlas Air B748F.

I was primarily concerned because up until a month or two ago there was no release quality version of .NET for Windows x64. Because of this I wanted to confirm that ASv6 had been tested with .NET 2.0 on Windows x64 and worked as it should :)
