If it's released in two months I would be stunned. You can't keep a product like that in beta without some fool spilling some of the beans. For FS2006 to come out in Feb it would have to have been in beta since mid summer. I find that pretty unlikely unless Microsoft chose to keep the beta internal this time. Given mid-summer was the period when Microsoft was circulating the survey of user systems I would suspect it's more likely a product may be announced in Feb. I also can't believe Microsoft would offer an exclusive for a print magazine without offering the same for some of the sites which have promoted the franchise like Avsim and Flightsim. Anyway, there's so much speculation that someone's guess over the past six months is likely the right one. There's been thousands of guesses and "inside info" posts so one of them has to be right I imagine :)-John

A default Airbus A321 !!!Well, there's a step in the right direction. MS has recognised the other half of the airline industry.Great news. It really seems to be getting nearer now..Ian

Heck no....haven't you recieved the memo?Every time an FS version is released means our computers get replaced...either in total, of one piece at a time ;)

Well, it looks credible, otherwise they wouldn't have stated this quote: "Exclusive Announcement", unless MS was involved in one way or the other. Two months from now would be fabulous, then maybe another year for all my add-ons to be patched. ;-)From the reding the article, FSX will add a lot more realism to the visual models and a overall graphic engine update. The included A321 would be very nice indeed, plus I love the quote: "AI-controller fuel trucks, baggage truck and jetways" and, of course the 5.1 surround sound.Pat

It doesn't look like a significant step forward in technology. Frankly who cares about AI if you can have phenomenal 3-rd part free (and real-life) AI these days. Better graphics? It all depends what it is but is sounds like major flaws with weather/visibility will still be here, if they add some eyecandy to the exterior of the aircraft - I will hardly notice it. They will probably go for 'easy' improvements and real important ones will wait for 2008+ ;)Michael J.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_744F.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_beta_member.jpg

Well, if that announcement is right, we'll only get enhancements in the gfx engine. That is nice and all but I was really hoping for a new physics engine and a new atmosphere simulation with a better weather generation, oh well...

Gang,I hate to burst your bubbles here, but I would wait until you here a statement from MS or the FS team themselves before jumping to any serious conclusions about release dates and the new capabilities. It is 'possible' that PC Gamer doesn't have all the facts.Sorry to be a kill joy.
