March 22, 200620 yr TrackIR and GA are a marriage made in heaven. That's where it shines.I may be wrong, but I don't believe that RC4 supports VFR flight. I think it is strictly an IFR tool. Granted, you can fly IFR in VFR weather, but you get what I mean.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-) Tom Perry

March 22, 200620 yr hi peter, good topic. i have quite a few freeware aircraft/panels but most don't have a virtual cockpit and since i'm getting into using the VC now, i find myself pretty much flying the default aircraft. i have no problems with smoothness with them and everything works. i would also like to ask if anyone has taken a look at the default lear VC. the reason is i think most people don't mess with the defaults very much and thought this jem might be overlooked. the lear has a fantastic VC! i'd put it up there with alot of payware. i do hope some people have noticed it and that it isn't going to waste. i mostly fly it, the 737, the kingair and premier aircraft designs CRJs and dash 8s. their little katana is pretty cool too. yea, there are better aircraft than the defaults but i am OK with them and their VCs as they keep me busy and don't have any problems. simple is good. william
March 22, 200620 yr Flight 1 Cessna 172...VC is so nice that the first time I saw it I thought I was looking at the 2d, till the view panned around and my jaw dropped!Level-D 767 and PMDG 737NG come close, too! Great framerates in the VC on even my moderate system!Jordon Moore's Bell 412 IS reality, as far as Im concerned with helos...the VC is artwork, the sounds are real-to-life, and it flies just like you'd expect it to!
March 23, 200620 yr I'll toss my .02 cents into the ring. I don't fly single engined GA aircraft, so that eliminates that catagory.Turbo prop twin Aeroworks B200 hands downTurbo prop Airliner Flight1 ATRBiz Jet Eaglesoft's Citation XMedium Airliner DF 727 (which I think is above all of them)Large Airliner Level D 767 -- the only one which comes close to the 727. Heavy PMDG 747, although I don't fly it much as if flies best letting the puter do it allI also wish to toss in that this past year has been the best all around year for freeware I have ever seen . . . you guys doing it for the betterment of the hobby, and doing it sooo well, I can truly say that some of the freeware rivals some of the best thought of payware.Clay http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. March 23, 200620 yr Sure would like if there was a jet flyer somewhere in the Tucson area who would help a frustrated simmer on the FMC setups!! Reading the manuals is very time consuming so I end up back in a twin for short flights.........will have to order the Tracr, more money in this pit:-)
March 23, 200620 yr Theres many planes I really love but to be totally honest, the RealAir stuff has pretty much ruined me for anything else. I love flying in the VC's and once you've experienced the RA VC's with their buttery smooth guages and just all around immersiveness it's hard to settle for less...particularly combined with the top-notch flight modelling and all the other nice features (realview being one) that RealAir incorporates into their add-ons.
March 23, 200620 yr Okay, I'm biting! Where can I find David Maltby's BAC 1-11. There are repaints here on Avsim but the original plane doesn't seem to be there.:D
March 23, 200620 yr I had the same question, so thanks from me as well.........now I have to read up on installing all the files, PS, for what it is worth, I like the JF Seneca for my level of simming, and had a little problem installing the new update, their Customer Service was just GREAT, helped me all along the way to the fix, that is an important part of picking a favorite plane......regards, RRL
March 23, 200620 yr Howard,You have hit on one of my biggest hot buttons. That is tinted windows in VC
March 23, 200620 yr Since I once got lost flying my Realair Scout in the Misty Fjords area, a snowstorm beating the plane around, and I had to work so hard that my Trackir4-hat started moving on my sweaty forehead, I know what immersion means. Need I say more?Herrie

March 23, 200620 yr Strange that this thread has resurfaced with Avsims announcement of "reader choice awards".Maybe the answers lie here in the thread ;-)Peter
