Ah man so jealous! In regards to your question regarding migrating, I do suggest a clean install to keep everything fresh, but you could have a look at Acronis True Image. It will create an exact image of your current hard drive which you can write to your new SSD. Cheers, Chris Brand
July 17, 20178 yr @Richard, glad you mention Novatceh as I have ordered hardware from them previously. Looks like in the near future I may follow suit, except for anything branded Gigabyte. Rick Almeida
July 17, 20178 yr Author @Chris, Many thanks for your tips. @Rick Unfortunately, Novatech pre-configured PCs only allow a restricted choice of products to which to change. Otherwise I might have avoided Gigabyte as a couple have suggested. Alternatively, you may order the pieces separately to your own configuration entirely. PS Ah, Jandakot! Great airfield. July 17, 20178 yr There is Samsung software around to mirror your C: drive onto the SSD. Should be in the packaging. Though a fresh install of windows and later copy the rest later might be more sensible, to rule out OS related problems. If the hardware is all new, there is always the possibility of a hick-up. July 17, 20178 yr Author Hi Alex, I have now discovered how to create a bootable USB stick from my existing PC. Then I can either boot from this, or use Samsung Magician. Thanks for your advice to start with a clean install of everything. July 17, 20178 yr Hi Richard I too re-installed Windows 10 64-bit using that USB boot method, so you should have no issues. Rick Almeida

July 17, 20178 yr I'd also recommend a clean install of Windows 10 - if you try to migrate the OS, there are just too many moving parts to get out of order. And it'll be hard to track down exactly where the problem is. What I typically do when moving to a new system is a fresh install of the OS and of any applications - for applications, I copy over the installers and run them. The only files I copy directly are content files - documents, .cfgs, repaints, things like that. You've specced out a great system - if your experience is anything like mine, you're going to love it.
