But today is the 17th July...and the 700/600 is not working in P3D V4

Any official announcement will be made in the General forum in a pinned thread. Until then, any dates given are estimates only. It should be available any day now I would suspect, but PMDG may alter that. It's ready when it's ready.

Oh and by the way, PMDG require you to sign all posts with your first and last name in the forums.

As per this page, it is not yet compatible:

Easy... First of all, the 16JUL17 have not passed everywhere in the world, yet.
Furthermore, I'm fairly certain, that it's very close.

Patience is a virtue, as they say...

I bought the add-on yesterday as the info on the page was "available from the 16.7.2017." Shortly after my post here the date was changed to 2059 .... this is a questionable policy!

Don't worry I don't think you'll have to wait too much longer.

Clearly we meant yesterday, and that was the aim.

This is also why we usually avoid providing hard dates on things. People badger us for dates. When we provide them, people badger us when they slip a bit.  The date slipped so that we could clean up the activation issue on the 800/900, so that it didn't get pushed into the 600/700.

If the common complaint is that we don't give enough information, one might consider the reasoning behind this approach, specifically related to the reactions we get when we do, on the rare occasion, provide this info.

Kyle, I understand your reasoning, but please understand mine. I bought a product which should be released on purchase on 16/07. I paid the money on time ... but did not receive the product.

Frank,

You did not purchase a P3Dv4 version of the 600/700, you purchased a P3Dv3 version - there is no such thing as the v4 version until it's actually released. Robert's pinned post in the general forum very clearly states that these dates we gave are estimates that can and will change as the actual situation changes. You've been a customer for a long time and honestly you should know how this works by now after all our releases over the years - software development is inherently variable and we don't like giving hard dates for exactly the reason that you're witnessing right now. Trust me, we want things released more than you do - we don't hold something back just to upset customers.

Sorry, but what with the timing of the release 600/700...?

PMDG don't give out release dates but considering that it's in testing, you should see it soon

Didn't own the 600/700 in the past (only had the 800/900), but i'm sure my credit-card will take another hit, the day the 600/700 is released ... are we there yet? are we there yet? are we there yet? are we there yet?  ;-)

Made the mistake of purchasing the 600/700 today for P3DV4. I thought it was released, but but I seen now that it has not been released.

Will I be able to upgrade for free when it is released?

Yes, the upgrade cost of V4 is included for earlier P3D purchases. Should be out in the next day or so.

Robert S. Randazzo 5 hours ago:

Captains,

We anticipate this week will bring a last round of major changes, and then everything should calm back down once again- which I think all of us are looking forward to.

Here is what you can expect;

737, 747 and 777 product lines will all get another round of installer replacements in order to wrap up changes triggered by the wide array of updates we have pushed over the past two months.  We anticipate that this will be the last round of mandatory installer updates, as we finally have stability where we want it and feel that mixing base installation and micro update processes will not create confusion for customers and tech support.

747 and 777 product lines are getting an update to provide additional debugging diagnostic information to assist technical support in solving problem reports.

747 and 777 product lines are getting some additional functionality to allow affected customers to gracefully avoid the "captains pfd popup CTD" .

All product lines are getting a bit of cleanup and tweaking based on our work of the past couple of weeks.

For those eagerly awaiting the 737-600/700 expansion pack, we have had a hard time getting that product stable enough to release to you- not because of the product itself but because we keep making changes to the base package that then have to be tested again in the pass-through to the 600/700.  It sounds simple enough, but when you consider how much testing we have going on with the 747, 77L, 77W, NGX8900, NGX6700 and DC-6...   Both the development team and the beta team has had to load-shed and set things in priority order- else we risk giving you more headaches than you really deserve.  I have set the ETA for the 737-600/700 to "before 31JUL" in order to get it on the far side of this weeks updates for our own sanity- and in hopes of avoiding having to move the date again.  (This-  right here- is why we don't give release dates... Sometimes you just can't see the things that will pop up and kill your timetable at the last minute.  It is frustrating on our end too...)

I've mentioned a few times just how much work has gone on here at PMDG as we have pushed all of these product lines out to you with new updates and compatibility for P3D v4- and we are nearly finished- but we are definitely seeing stress cracks in the workflow over the past month- with some needless errors being made for no other reason than task saturation and fatigue.

Thank you very much for your patience as we get these last few updates completed- and then we can all get back to simming and the development team can get back to wrapping up the 747-8 for beta testing!

Then, I guess there is no one on the face of this planet than can Butleger. We just have to be patient and be glad for the work being done making to the small ones' as stable and good as possible before they are released for flight in the v4
