Touchdown sounds

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm having difficulty realising when the DC6 has landed because of the quiet touchdown sounds.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

I've trief a variety of hard and firm touchdowns and also soft landings.

Yes, I have the same problem.

Darn. And I thought I had become the master of landing.

I only hear the wheels rolling and brakes squeaking. No tire sounds.

Also, is there no tire smoke or water splash effects either?

I also think the touchdown sounds are very quiet to non existant.

Thanks guys glad I'm not the only one  Does your FE's chair make a sound or the panel light switches?

My FE chair doesn't make any sound, neither do the arm rests.

There are no touchdown sounds in the sound folder - so non-existent. Disappointing.

Thanks!

Would love to have touch down sounds!

Can anyone from PMDG look in to adding these?

Thanks

It is a shame there is no touchdown sounds, It kills the immersion a little, you expect some rattles or a thud of some sort on touchdown. The takeoff roll sounds need some improvement too. After Watching DC6 videos on youtube it seems their take off roll seem quiet rattly. It would be great if these sounds could be implemented.

I agree, this eliminates the feeling a lot... It would be nice to have this sound.

By the way, it would be interesting how PMDG could miss such an "easy" thing? All PMDG aircrafts are top notch... Is it maybe a bug?

To be honest I did not pay attention to the (lack of) touchdown sound until I came across this thread but since then I started to notice it myself too. Indeed it would be great if more characteristic touchdown sounds were added.

It's not a bug, there's no associated sound file in the DC6 sound folder. It's a bit of a shame really. Remember though that it's not a fully featured full blown sim ala 777/747. The flightdeck is also eerily quiet until you get an engine running. I'm surprised there's no electric 'hum' from the DC powered electrics and/or instruments. Feels weird and again slightly un-polished.

In the meantime, I've been using A2A's 'Accufeel' to provide touchdown sounds, cockpit rattle and other effects. It's a nice compromise.

Hi Adam,

Does accu-feel works in p3d4? If so, which version?

Jos Denis

Hi Adam,

Ok, I see. Patience then.

Does anyone know if PMDG plan to add this?

It would be great
