Don't forget to install the free third party Oculus Tray Tools App and set pixel density to at least 1.5. This makes a big difference in readability of text and instruments.

I'm not sure I agree with you on this one. I use the built-in mic all the time when flying online on Vatsim and on numerous occasions I've been told I'm rather "far away" and low volume and this is when having the mic volume set to 100% so can't do much about it. I never had these issues when using my wireless Logitech headset for instance before I got the rift. Maybe it's just my headset/mic and I got a bad sample.

I've tried both the tray tool as well as the debug tool that comes with the Oculus software but I've never noticed any real difference adjusting this value. This has been in FlyInside and P3Dv3 so maybe that's the reason - you will only benefit from this in other titles?

Out of nowhere some guy I was playing against from Australia joined our conversation which was slightly awkward...lol. Be careful with that as it was not clear that this option was turned on by default in the game.

I admit it could be placebo but I feel it has removed jaggies in general and text appears more easily readable. This makes sense as it basically a form of supersampling. You must ensure it is running before you turn on Oculus Home. I have it running at start up and minimized so I don't have to mess around with it.

Using voice recognition software, I had horrible luck with various headphones, and was ready to give up on the whole idea until I tried the Rift mic. Now I can use voice commands with probably 95% understanding by the computer, whereas before, it was just a comedy of errors. A lot of modern VR titles allow you to adjust this directly in game settings, rather than forcing people to fiddle with tray tools, and it does/can have a VERY noticeable effect on apparent image clarity. Elite dangerous, DCS, Aerofly and other more recent titles have controls for this in settings. We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... Ok, in my case the Logitech headset is much better both for voice recognition (FS2Crew) as well as real communication with Vatsim ATC. Don't get me wrong. The Oculus mic gets the job done as well. Only not as good as the Logitech one.

I think I read somewhere increasing the resolution in FlyInside in fact is the same thing as adjusting the SS value using the tray or debug tool. That would explain why I haven't noticed any improvement since I'm already using the second highest resolution in FlyInside.

It arrived this morning just before I headed off to work, so at present its unboxed. I have a couple of questions before I hook it up tonight and probably mess it up. 1. Im using a large 4K TV and assume that having this plugged into the GPU (TitanX pascal) along with the VR will be very taxing and possibly impair performance of the Headset. Is it best to us a small monitor with less resolution or is it not an issue because P3D is only really running though the VR headset. 2. Am I wasting my time hooking it up to P3DV4 without flyinside yet being available for V4. I only have V4 installed so won't be able to test the Pimax with flyinside until the update version is released later this month. Should I wait until this release and avoid disappointment with performance or are you folks finding P3Dv4 in its current VR readiness form, usable. Lastly is anyone using the 4K Pimax that can steer me in the right direction regarding software installation. Im guessing I start with piplay, and then what? thx in advance IM Hi Iceman. I've been looking to get into VR. Running a 6700k, 1080 with P3DV4. I've been discourged due to all the talk about poor resolution coming from my 55" 4K TV. I accept it's ok for some people but I've been wanting to wait for better resolution VR before taking the plunge. How have you found the PiMax 4K?I've also read about a new version coming, sounds like early next year: https://www.roadtovr.com/pimax-8k-vr-headset-coming-kickstarter-later-month/ Any feedback? Everybody else seems to run Rift or Vive Kael Oswald 9950X3D/ 64GB DDR5 6200 @ CL30 / Custom Water Loop / RTX 5090 / 3 x 48" LG C4 OLEDs

Everybody else seems to run Rift or Vive Hi KL, I'm loving the 4K Pimax easy to setup and actually works well with P3Dv4 and will even be better once flyinside is released. (I hope it works with flyinside) The Pimax lacks full head movement like the rift and vive but I'm told Track IR will fix that, however as of now I haven't figured out how to make the two to work together. I have not compared the others but the graphics quality is OK, no screen door effect, I can easily read the instruments and have worn the headset for hours at a time. The 8K will be awesome based on my current experience with the 4K. 👍 Thumbs up Pimax. IM
