I think you have your chronology a bit off there, I'm pretty sure the first PSS commercial airliner add-on product was a Boeing 777-200 for FS2000. PMDG went into business in 1997, so they definitely did exist and more to the point they were busily producing their Boeing 757 and 767 add-ons for Fly! prior to the release of that PSS Triple Seven.

Oh, I forgot.. that 777 for 2002. thanks (it was my first heavy) That CD came with the manuals and stuff. I now remember I went to buy a big binder, printed the documentation of the CD, and practically started studying about the add-on and how it functions. Ahhh, what times. Later they came up with he Pro Versions, which I still have... A little Extra... around these times AMD was shining with their gaming processors...Remembering is to re-live.

None of us forced bbs to mass release 3 types of Airbus addons promising a full release"soon". You are sounding more and more like one of the developers yourself. people got blocked by the developers for reporting bugs and having problems often told user error or just ignoring them.

Ehhh, no. I am not a developer. I wish I had the knowledge they have. I honestly admire the work they do.

Speaking about the Airbus.. The A-340-600 is my preferred aircraft. Airbus manufactured such beautiful airplane.. bold, strong, and big. No ugly bulging  parts. Unfortunately, they are now phasing out for more improved aircraft such as the A-350.   Sadly, I never had the chance to see an A-340-600  in person,.

I remember that, it was my first payware/complex addon ever.  I actually won it in a contest at another flightsim website.  I recall not having the first clue how to start it, and given it’s complexity the FPS were horrid on my very slow computer at the time.  Ahh the memories 😀

Awesome ! Yes, great memories. If these guys should have stayed together kept going until today (along with the latest technology), I am sure they would have been second to none.

If they mange to do what they did in 2000, imagine what they would have achieved by now?  (Again, if they had kept going full-force till today's date). However, this doesn't mean, they are far behind, no...they have made significant progress  with their Airbuses in P3D V-4.. this,  considering how long they were away and having to learn new stuff to current standards.

Best of luck to BSS  !!!

Reading several posts, you see one thing in common- the same people who bash one developer, they do the same with another developer... Anything that is not developed by their "favorite developer" immediately  get's a bashing and a thumps down. All this, with many times not even owning the product.

If you are reffering to me, you are out of line. They shafted lots of simmers, including myself. I will never let them sleep if I had half the chance. To think they won't do it again ( runner) you could be in for a surprise.

When they re appeared after going into hiding, they promised to put right with  the links to provide the products that were denied. It never happened.

This is not developer bashing, this is one pi$$'d off simmer who see's these planks for what they really are.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience. Have you contacted them recently and request assistance with your concern? Then post their response ? Take a scren-shot of their response.

Joe, it happened too all owners of their PSS products. They closed down their servers so all the PSS addons could no longer be activated. They did a runner from the UK to Malta, and opened up shop as BBS.

When everyone cottoned on to who they were, the backlash was horrendous, and they,BBS, never posted on Avsim again, that was after they promised to put things right, which, as I posted above never happened.

The BBS products on the surface look ok, it's what lies underneath.

It would appear the irony of a Phoenix and a Black Box is lost on some people eh?

This isn't 2000, sir.  Today, BBS has a lesser than stellar record.  Consider their A320; the last major update occurred almost 3 years ago.  Its ironic they stopped producing updates after Aerosoft's Airbus X and Flight Factor's Airbus entered the market.  They seemed to have lost their appetite to complete the project once they realized their rendition lagged behind the competition; after all, its likely they already maximized their sales for this product.  So, why bother to honor their "prologue" pledge when it won't result in significant sales?  What I find must comical is their incomplete/abandoned A320/21 price is on par with Aerosoft's completed/mature product.

As others have speculated, and track records/evidence has shown, I doubt we'll see many A330 updates once the competition release their products.   These two characters continue to treat their customers like poo; but you continue to 'admire them.'  BTW, are they still banned from AVSIM?

Dunno if they are banned, but since they sailed in pretty close proximity to the kind of things a certain developer with the initials PT liked to indulge in way back when, it wouldn't surprise me. Although one would hope it would not be a situation which could not be resolved. It's not easy, but nothing is ever truly so broken that it can't be fixed if one is willing to try.

That however, is easier said than done. I can remember attempting to drive such a reconciliation between Avsim and Ariane some years ago (aided by one or two other Avsim forum members with a similar desire for friendliness in the flight sim community), whereby I even purchased their 737-900 NG for FSX and did a review of it on Avsim (I had to since they wouldn't hand out a review copy lol) in an attempt to help mend that fence. I gave it a favourable review too, which in fairness it did indeed deserve, but it was as it turned out with regard to any return of a prodigal son, a forlorn hope and Ariane are still very much outsiders to the flight sim community at large, which is a shame, because they do actually make some good stuff although their pricing policy and activation system remains the bizarre and convoluted enigma it always was.

So as noted, I'm willing to consider the possibility that a leopard can sometimes change its spots and will even try to help that transition occur, and in the spirit of that, like a few other people present, I did buy their A340 for reasons already stated on this thread, and I will certainly concede that their livery management and aircraft configuration tool is one that works well and is a lot better than many other livery installation systems and their A340 has some definite merit, so it's not as if they can't come up with decent stuff. Their little Scottish Aviation Bulldog training aeroplane is a prime example of that; one can download a free demo of it for P3D V4.1 which will quite readily prove that to be the case if anyone is curious and doesn't want to hand over any cash in order to make their own judgement.

But I think they've got a long way to go in order to polish off the tarnish to their reputations with quite a lot of flight sim enthusiasts. As is always the case and as my Dad advised me years ago, the one thing you can't easily fix, is your good name should you ever damage it.

Well, as I have learned in life There is always 3 sides to every story: Your story, his story, and the truth.  I understand that by you using the word "runner" you're trying to imply that they "committed  a crime and escaped to Malta." which of course, if this were the case they would not be posting on online (so, it's clearly not credible material)..

Therefore, we would need to hear their side as to why they closed for business..what happened? Illness, went broke, family matters, relocated, disagreement among development team? (what really happened?) . We might never really know.

I can attest that their products are great, even considering how far back (2000) they developed marvelous a/c. If they were not good, one would not be upset about not being able to reactivate and wanting to fly them again.(hmmmm)  Therefore, I encourage you to contact them directly, get a copy of your message, and a copy of their response and post (This only if you desire to come publicly  "informing" about BBS)

Good luck!

I am sorry to read about your  experience. Have you contacted them directly and request assistance and/or see if they are still working on their products... or are they still at Version: 0.2 ??
