Bonanza hands down. The Bonanza VC is truly stunning compared to the Cirrus - Eaglesoft just cannot do VC's, it's the only part of the package which is missing from them.

>Bonanza hands down. The Bonanza VC is truly stunning compared>to the Cirrus - Eaglesoft just cannot do VC's, it's the only>part of the package which is missing from them.>As in all things, beauty and value is in the eye of the beholder :-)Users make comparisons all the time...Some say they love Eaglesoft VC and cannot run other vendors VCs or other vendors avionics in VC while some users swear by the same product:-)The easiest comparison is for individuals to own competing products and know for themselves what works best for their specific needs. Some users prefer one product over another product and that is what keeps our hobby interesting and growing :-)Eaglesoft, like all Flight One ecommerce users, uses a 30 refund policy so there is no loss if disatisfied:-)

If you are planning on buying a new real plane, you will find your only choice is the Cirrus SR20/SR22. I was || this close to buying one myself. It is a real cockpit that is affordable and available today, unlike the RXP-like Bonanza setups you will find out there. Generalization to be sure, but real. A used Bonanza with an RXP-like setup will cost twice that of the Cirrus.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)

Ok, thank you to everyone for all their input. I'm loving the Bonanza, but not I NEED those Reality XP gauges in my other GA planes haha. Anyway, is it easy to put the Garmin 430 package in the Carenado Cessna 182? Does the autopilot follow the vectors given by the GPS? I am brand new to the whole Reality XP experience, but I'm loving it.Tim

>Bonanza hands down. The Bonanza VC is truly stunning compared>to the Cirrus - Eaglesoft just cannot do VC's, it's the only>part of the package which is missing from them.>I have both as well (sr20 & a36)...and although i enjoy the sr20 as its really alot of fun i feel the a36 does a better job when it comes to visual perception when sitting in the vc, ie...the vc modeling is too far off from reality in the cirrus because if you move your seat up far enough to be able to have the dash look and read as it should youll find yourself sitting way in front of the wings and it feels like you have to look up about 3 ft just to see the top of the windshield (tunnel vision effect)...this throws the entire 3d perspective off....and while MOST vc modeling these days are also off the mark like this (including the a36), i find the a36 is much better...not perfect..but definately better and doesnt kill the visual perspective for me in the vc.One big advantage you might consider if doing alot of IFR flying is to retrofit the a36 with RXP's Flightline T gauges...thatll give your main flight gauges a really BUTTER SMOOTH movement, and much closer to reality ...so it really depends on what exactly your needs and wants are...they are both good solid planes.Dave

Here here, a look at the aircraft on display at Osh Kosh 2005 and more recently Sun N Fun 2006 revealed nearly every General Aviation and Sport Pilot aircraft on display contained some form of Glass Avionics from Avidyne Entegra, Chelton, and Garmin G1000.In addition to the aircraft, the hanger display booths contained the same General Aviation Avidyne Entegra, Chelton, and Garmin G1000 displays. Our upcoming Columbia 400 contains Avidyne Entegra Avionics in Portrait Version.Sitting in the Columbia 400 aircraft and displays with both Avidyne Entegra and Garmin G1000 versions confirms that Glass is the future in General Aviation and even Sport Pilot aircraft.:-)

Interesting that you mention that. Our Baron now needs two brand new engines-we are debating whether to move to a cirrus , redo our engines,or trade up to a better Baron with low time engines..However-a B55 baron like we have right now sells for 80k to 150k-you can't find a used s20 for that price-and you are talking in the Baron 180-190kts. vs. 140-150 in the s20 cirrus, much more load carrying capability in the baron, much more range in the Baron, more baggage, and other redundency's of having twin systems, ability to fly over water (I live next to the Great Lakes of the US) etc. Of course on gas-the cirrus wins hands down! You can get a low end used sr22 (with basic 6 only) for about the same price as this or this:http://www.controller.com/listings/forsale...0355FBFD390B6FEhttp://www.controller.com/listings/forsale...0355FBFD390B6FEWhen you look at the load carrying ability, range, ability to fly over water (twin vs. single), icing capabilities, oxygen etc.-we are still leaning towards the Baron as the better value. I like the ideas of the glass cockpits-but I fly to get people places fast-and it seems the cirrus doesn't quite match up in terms of ability and price (used) yet....Therefore I would say-no-a used bonanza with rxp setup will not cost twice as much-unless you are comparing brand new. In the used market it is the other way around to me (price a cirrus with icing capabilities, oxygen etc. and you can easily get 2x as much as a Baron). You can of course do what I did-which is get a tablet pc with xm weather-then I have the functionality of a state of the art flight display for about $3000 total-and it works just as well in my 90-100k Baron-at 180 knots,4 people and bags, going right across the Great Lakes (a real time saver!). Now gas-that is another story.....http://www.flightprep.com/rootpage.php?page=HomeEFBSWhttp://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

The reliability and accuracy of electronic circuitry, the size and weight reduction and the incredible ability to retrieve and display information means that steam gauges will soon be the ones that require specific training and our sons and daughters will be flying their planes within half-mile airways at night, in clag, in safety, wondering what all the fuss is about with IFR!Allcott

Well, the SR/22 is an amazing plane. I fly the real one as well as flying one in the sim. But, in VC with TrackIR it is as real as one can get. The glass is the way of the future that is for sure. I have both the SR/22 and the A36. I also paid for Michael with FSGS to go over my computer for me, which made a world of difference in smoothness, WITH all the detail that the addon mesh and landclass can dish out. I vote, buy both. All the best and keep the dirty side downflygirl

Correct Geofa, interesting to note that we also saw the Baron with G1000 at Sun N Fun...had quite a line to view it upclose and personal:-)It would seem that Cessna, Beech and Piper have all decided to go Glass in the future:-)

Yes, you can put the 430's in the 182. I have my 182 set-up with an RXP 530/430 combination. I have also swapped out the old Nav-O-Matic AP with the FS default Bendix and it works in tandem with the gns units great. I only have it set-up for VC though.

Dreamfleet A36 all the way. Then upgrade your sim rating to a twin like the Dreamfleet Baron... All a master piece!:D

I wish dreamfleet did a B55 and made a freight hauler option for both the 55 and the 58!

>It would seem that Cessna, Beech and Piper have all decided to>go Glass in the future:-)>I have not yet found.....Anyone who has upgraded to glass, wanting to go back to the "old way".This doesn't apply to those who've only used glass for a session or two, and are not yet comfortable with the systems.L.Adamson
