Megacity Hawaii-Oahu is out

Featured Replies

thanks. I missed the post about the forum being down. I have a bunch of questions about this scenery. The first is that the offshore reefs were included in the textures. If you are right over them, I guess you can see them OK from the air, but at an angle I don't think you see the reefs so clearly. I suppose depicting reefs in FS9 is not easy, but showing them as land (had no problem taxiing on them) I'm not sure is the right answer. scott s..

So if we get this, I guess I don't need FS Genisis's landclass and mesh files anymore?Eric

Quite a bargin IMHO. http://www.megascenery.com/news.htmI bought it and really like it. I installed it over FS Genesis and it works great. I wish they had data for the other islands. Now you are flying over the real thing.

Actually the megacity stuff uses airphoto's stuff...I'm bummed, I was working with someone on doing the whole Hawaiian Island chain in high res satellite imagery from a satellite provider. The project was put on hold though due to development costs of over $300,000 to do all the islands...I'm glad to see Megacity's approach and that they have the whole island, there are still a few clouds visible on the tiles though, which isn't good, but Oahu is the hardest island to get as it is constantly covered with clouds...I'll probably still obtain the satellite imagery still for all the other islands for my film work... I am interested to know though if the whole Mega series will be upgraded to the new 1m or higher resolution that FSX will support...

So...let me be the dummy here and just ask.......is there a way to make Bill Melichar's PHNL work with MegaOahu without screwing up anything else?Has anyone figured a way yet???Clayton

Whats wrong with Bill Melichar's PHNL and MegaOahu. Thats what I have.Except the spots for the planes parked are not right. The planes are inside the buildings. I need that ..whatchamacallit updated. apart from that.. everything seems good to me.Manny
