January 22, 20188 yr Hello: Just tried to download and install the Fltpln Go app for FSX on my windows 7 PC and I get a message, "the signature of this program is corrupt or invalid." Did anyone encounter this error when they setup the app on their PC and if so, what did you do to install the app? Thanks! January 22, 20188 yr Are you talking about the full app, or the client program to send data to something else? I run Fltpln Go on my tablet and just have their small utility on my main PC to send the data to it over my network. January 22, 20188 yr Says on the website that it's for Windows 10, so maybe that's the issue? I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and I got an inactive link and the message "This app does not work on your device" when I attempted a download. Ernie
January 22, 20188 yr Author OK I downloaded the app again and ran it and it looks like it worked this time. I see the icon on my windows 7 desktop. I still have to configure everything with my ipad.. January 22, 20188 yr A couple of tips for this app, which I use daily. First, go into the Externals menu option (left column), scroll down, and set to connect to the simulator you will be using. If you use more than one, say X-plane sometimes and FSX or P3D at other times, then you will need to manage that setting accordingly. Next. Make sure you have your simulator PC connected to the same wireless network as your tablet. For instance I have my cable TV's Tivo system on one wifi router, and my computers on another. I can connect my tablet to either. But for the app to work I have to have my iPad connected to the same network as the computer. Finally. If you have the FltPlan Go app active on the iPad or tablet before you start the simulator and start the connective FltPlanGo app on the PC, then you may have to close the app on the iPad or tablet and restart it in order to get in sync. January 23, 20188 yr Author I got the ipad app working and was able to connect to FSX and see my aircraft on the map screen at my selected airport successfully! How do I get my flightplan route to appear? Since my aircraft has a GTN 750 do I just create the flightplan there and it will show up on the map? Do I have to use fltplan.com to create and save a route? If I create multiple flightplans on fltplan.com, how do I choose the plan to display? Thanks for your help! Airbus First, sorry no one has responded to you since Monday. I am tied up tonight and tomorrow so have to be brief here. You must establish an ID and password at Fltplan.com and create your flight plans there. Then they will show up under Navlogs in the iPad app. You will need to separately enter the resulting plans into the GTN. Once you have created plans on the web site they will show up in a list on the iPad app. Since you are not creating or filing real world flight plans you must use the Domestic IFR option when creating a flight plan on the web site. You will also need on the web site to establish at least one aircraft in the site's "Settings" option (left column), "Edit A/C List". You cannot complete a flight plan without an aircraft. You will need to work your way through learning the flight planning process. There are live charts on the web site under the "Navigation" option to plan from. Then you use the fixes you determine and enter them in the "Own Route:" box in the flight planning area. Once that is done, click on "Press Here for Navlog", then once you have the Navlog click Save. That will position the flight plan to be sent to the iPad app. You will need to work through a learning curve, but then it becomes ecstacy. January 25, 20188 yr Author fppilot: Saw your instant message come up while I was browsing in another forum. Thanks for responding. I decided to try to figure things out and spent a couple of hours yesterday trying to work with fltplan.com and doing the things you just mentioned. Bottom line...it works. I set up one of my routine fight plans on fltplan.com and the same plan on my GTN 750 (Learjet 35A). I watched myself taxi, takeoff, and track the plan perfectly. I tracked my plane on the approach plate all the way to the destination runway. What a blast! Thanks for your help! Sometimes you still need the real P3D/FSX flight plan file - so I do all my FltPlan.com flight planning in conjunction with Little NavMap - I usually pull a real world approved ATC flight plan off of FltPlan.com then paste into Little NavMap for that part of the planning - I need the file for RC4 and if I'm feeling lazy - it can send the flight plan directly to the GTN as well... Second point many may overlook - FltPlan.com has performance and fuel burn profiles built for just about every GA and BizJet aircraft out their and a bunch of tube liners too... While it might not match up perfectly with the sim depending on the accuracy of the FDE - it sure is nice having some idea as to how much fuel you want to load before takeoff... You can build profiles for up to 10 aircraft under the "Tools" option down the left hand navigator... This then gives you suggested altitudes based on weather and duration of flight for your chosen aircraft... There's a couple profiles for the Lear 35.... Enjoy... Regards, Scott
