May 13, 200620 yr >a QUALITY payware/freeware low wing GA a/c that can do up to>180 knots. Must have a good VC.>>Any ideas?>Thanks >>BarryFrom my own hangar, low wings, speedy and a great VC :On the civilian side Milton Shupe' amazing Spartan (freeware). A WW2 fighter like the RealAir Spitfire or fighter/bomber like the ** P47. They are faster than the Spartan of course, big engines !
May 13, 200620 yr >Don't think you can go wrong with Eaglesoft's Cirrus Barry. >The Cirrus (I believe) has been the number one GA seller for a>few years in the real world. And it's a beautiful aircraft to>look at.>>-JohnThanks John!We agree, something about those sleek lines and sports car feel in the cockpit just seems addictive :-lol
May 13, 200620 yr Can it do 180 kt?Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-) Tom Perry
May 13, 200620 yr From Cirrus Site...Cirrus SR22 G2Performance Takeoff 1020 ft Takeoff (50' object) 1574 ft Climb rate 1304 ft/min Stall Speed with Flaps 61 KIAS Cruise Speed (75% Power) 185 KTAS
May 13, 200620 yr >As long as you mention RealAir, why not the SF260?...she doesn't go beyond 160 knots more like 153. Fast but not that fast.
May 13, 200620 yr >>As long as you mention RealAir, why not the SF260?...>>she doesn't go beyond 160 knots more like 153. Fast but not>that fast.>Web sites that I've seen, show a SF260 with cruise speeds ranging from 180-190 kts. The Air Combat USA site, has a cruise speed of 180 kts.L.Adamson
May 13, 200620 yr I always file for 180 knts. in my B55 Baron and usually do that or a little better...The Cirrus sr22 is also supposed to reach that on half the gas consumption!Both the Dreamfleet Baron and Eaglesoft Sr22 are magnificant. I'd get them both.......http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

May 13, 200620 yr >Ready to learn how to do it Larry :-) ! cant' go faster with>mine... Well I'm not Larry....but try either computing TAS, or set FS toindicate TAS instead of IAS and see how you come out. Unless I'm mistaken performance figures are given in Kts TAS. Just a thought. May 13, 200620 yr I'll add another vote for the Cirrus SR22. Just a great aircraft.I also have the Dreamfleet Bonanza, and you can't go wrong with that either.But....neither of these aircraft will see 180 all the time, many factors may contribute to a bit slower speed.If you can hang on a bit, Eaglesoft will be releasing their Columbia 400, and that will probably hit 180 without problem consistantly, and cruise at 20,000 ft easily. Quite a performer, and cannot wait for its release.For a sneak peak see this thread:http://www.eaglesoftdg.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=913But hey, I'll end up having them all; Cirrus 20 and 22, DF A36, the new Columbia, etc etc. Just a sucker for well done low wing GA aircraft.
May 14, 200620 yr I'd go for Dreamfleet's Baron 58. It's got everything you mention and more. There's also Flight One's Pilatus PC-12 if you are looking for something in a turbine.
May 14, 200620 yr >With 310hp and its low-wing composite design, it'll do 180kts>with no problem! I know this for a fact because I own a REAL>Cirrus SR22 G2 GTS!>>AlexYou need to change your nick. Bonkster ----> LUCKY DOG!! :D
May 14, 200620 yr I got 182 kts --- GPS ground speed (no wind) out of it, at 8000' msl and engine mixture leaned. Prop RPM was on the high side, as well as fuel consumption. At this altitude, indicated airspeed was 161 kias.L.Adamson
