February 15, 20188 yr You would think that If you already bought the PMDG 737 for FSX Steam that they would give you some kind of discount for P3D version?? Just saying! Gezzzz Brian
February 15, 20188 yr You wouldn't. It's another platform with another license that PMDG has to pay too.. This has been forever and will very likely not change. And, by the way, most major developers of complexe addon aircraft hold it that way. ,

February 16, 20188 yr Author It's not a different platform really. They compile the same code, Look and fly the plane. Most company's that sell aircraft offer a discount when you buy one then the other or one price for both. When you buy Office 2016 you get Office for Windows and Mac. When you upgrade Office 2013 to 2016 you get a discount.
February 16, 20188 yr Is that Gezzzz or Jezzzz (soft or hard G)? You might occasionally get a Box-set promo from Aerosoft now and then. Happens once in a blue-moon. Jude BradleyBeech Baron: Uh, Tower, verify you want me to taxi in front of the 747?ATC: Yeah, it's OK. He's not hungry. Different realm, different licensing requirements. ...and for the record, even when MS managed both FSX and ESP, you didn't get a discount. The products were managed as separate lines for entirely different purposes. Kyle Rodgers

Certified sims of various levels (Redbird used ESP before it was P3D, for example), edu/training, and commercial sims. Basically, anyone other than a home user. Kyle Rodgers
February 17, 20188 yr Nothing to stop you using FS9 or FSX in a training device, certainly not in the time before ESP was launched. The licensing is purely to protect Microsoft from being sued. ESP and FSX are essentially the same thing. Neither ESP nor FSX would be suitable for any kind of flight handling training (same goes for X-Plane). ESP certainly was not for Level D sims. Going back to the OP’s point. Some devs will give you a discount for P3D, some give a combined license at no extra cost, others treat it completely separately. It certainly isn’t a clear cut case that none will. It was PMDG’s decision to make on pricing which we all must accept
