Milviz C310 REDUX and RXP GTNs

Featured Replies

Someone recommended this just-released aircraft to me, but then I looked into it and it is not compatible with the RXP GTN gauges. Is there any hope that it will be made compatible in the future? The Milviz official forum  says no, unless I am reading it wrong.Thanks.

From their website for the 310R Redux, doesn't look like the RXP GTN 750/650 is supported yet, but their XP GNS530/430 is?

Might want to send Milviz a request and ask them to consider adding the RXP 750/650 and see what they say?

The MilViz 310R Redux includes our own highly detailed GPS units based on the default simulator data, however we recognize that many of our customers use other popular 3rd party options for replicating the GPS functions. For the 310R Redux, we've bundled in compatibility for the most popular avionics add-ons with multiple configurations available to choose from. Compatible 3rd party avionics include the following:

F1 750 GTN

F1 650 GTN

RXP 530 GNS

RXP 430 GNS

Navstax Radio/Navigation Suite

The GTN will work. Just use the other vendor's GTN to configure using the MVAMS. Then install the RXP GTN using the panel assistant, and no bezel option. And for the GNS it is for RXP v2.

Just to confirm - the GNS gauges appear to work natively, which is quite nice and something I thanked them for.  As for the GTN as Bill notes the usual process applies and seems fine.

Note I'm not sure I'd bother to ask about native GTN support.  Colin from Milviz has some strong comments in the P3D 310 thread I started indicating he was done with adding new 3rd party GPS support for any of their products.  You can read the first of his comments here: https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/533069-new-310r-from-milviz/?do=findComment&comment=3824805

Yeah that comment is what made me concerned. There's nothing more off-putting than cat fights between developers. Sometimes it's all white noise like the back and forth between ORBX and Laminar. But occasionally there's valid complaints.

KEYE Eagle Creek Airport, Indianapolis.
The scenery started out as one of Orbx freebies from the NA Airport pack. I did some enhancements using ADE. Redid all taxiways, aprons, added taxiway lights. Objects added with Instant Scenery 3 in P3Dv3.4 copied object file to P3Dv4. Most objects are from Orbx. Aircrafts, cars, trees, people, dogs, animated flags, etc. The only items leftover from the NA Airports pack is Ricks Boatyard Café and the firehouse. The building textures (Cessna hangar) I manually copied over from REX Worldwide Airports HD since it's not P3Dv4 compatible yet. Vincennes University Aviation pilot training takes place there with their C172R's. They occasionally fly over my house. The A2A 172 in the second shot is a VU repaint I did.

Hi,

I've read these comments too. The only concern I have is sending keys to our products to the dev team (many keys), no getting any email such as "can you help us with this, advise how to", then read later "we taking too much time and get no help at all"...

I respect their business decision, they are entitled to do whatever they want to, and they openly say they consider this 'work' not paying back enough. Other vendors also consider 'RXP integration' a sales factor instead, something which make customers like you purchase their aircraft instead of the competition. To each is own.

I live just 5 miles SW of Castleton. Haven't in that area for a long time for the reason you stated. Too much congestion. Haven't done anything with KBMG...

A point I made in the aforementioned thread.  As a customer one of the first things I look for in a new GA plane is support for add-on GPS.  If it's not there, I'm not likely to purchase unless it's a plane where such a GPS wouldn't make sense.

Scott

Is anyone else struggling with the AP tracking the GPS and if so what are your .ini settings?  Seems to work OK tracking VOR radials, and the HSI displays course correctly for either mode, but when I switch to GPS, tracking results have been erratic.

I tend to agree with you on that point. I also suggested in an earlier post that Milviz should consider charging more for products that have so much more to offer. They got to live too!! This C310 Redux is a great example. The 20 bucks for the upgrades is really just peanuts when you look at Prepar3d 4.2 ready with new lights and all the choices in GPS's now to mention new Textures and Sound. I know lots of folks like to whin on these boards but I suspect they come up with the money anyway. I don't want to be fleeced but I am always willing to pay the price for quality and detail.

Are you using the GTN750? I have had a few problems with it since 4.1 came out. I suspect their may be a bit of a bug there somewhere. I just loaded up 4.2 for this 310 Redux and really haven't used it much at all. I have sort of expected a update from F1. What ever it is, it seems intermittent and God knows I am not expert...LOL
