Thanks Silverbird. FlyTampa wouldn't have done it quickly either, but certainly excellent. And below 50$.

Kind regards, Michael

WingCreation RJAA is far below modern P3D standards of quality.

I do not agree with you, I will take a picture of the airport when I am home, it is high quality texturing.

As you can see from my sig I don't live in America. Japanese products in the UK/Europe have to remain competitive or they won't sell. The Yen might be stagnating but it appears hugely over-valued compared to the Euro / UKP.

Like you I'll only buy in a sale.

The economics of large multinational corporations compared to single man scenery developers is like comparing a small website for my neighbors book business to Amazon.

While I agree to this, Technobrain might make more profit when setting the price tag to 30 $ as others do and selling trice the number of pcs.

SimMarket will take a big percentage of the sale, I have heard Twitch streamers say 30% or more. I would not deny the Japanese developers charge more I just gave a simplistic example as to why some of the increase can be explained. I paid 45 dollars for Wing Creation Narita and it is worth every penny!

I own all of Wing Creations' airports and like them despite their price tag. However, their website/forum are lacking, be it information on future releases or adapting their sceneries to new simulator generations (while I must admit they reply to PMs). Usually they are one major version behind and say "it sort of works in the current version with minor issues" (which does apply).

There is a P3D3 update I found on the Wing Creation website and I have not found an issue in V4

The fact remains that charging an excessive fee is unlikely to reap maximum reward. Drop the price by €10 and sales could double.

Personally I would be reluctant to buy an addon airport unless it was developed by ORBX, FSDT, FlyTampa, FlightBeam or UK2000. I don't own a single UK2000 addon but that makes my point that reputation is everything.

Those Tokyo screenshots look about freeware standard to me :-)

@Avidean, good point. I got burnt by Nassau-X sold by Aerosoft but designed by I.D.S. It ate huge amounts of VAS in FSX making it virtually useless for me.

Despite many promises about an update it never materialised. They’ve released other products too with mixed results. I’ll only now buy from designers with proven reputations.

I agree the price is high. But what I don't agree with is the scenery is not even released yet and someone earlier in the thread made a complete judgment of the scenery based off one pic they didn't like and declared it unworthy. Typical of this community. Technobrain has already been taken out back, beaten and left for dead and they haven't even made it into town yet.

Go back and look at the preview images of upcoming sceneries from FT, FSDT and Flightbeam and compare the prices being charged by those high-end developers versus what is being offered by Technobrain.

The quality isn't there to charge such an amount and it will reflect in their sales volumes. However, given that no other quality developer has (yet) tackled Japanese airports, we are stuck with a monopoly provider who feels that they can charge whatever they want (see a certain South African developer who also has no competition).

I appreciate NMG scenery for what it is, good on fps, some custom buildings, and an atmosphere. It is not billed as the best. The scenery from the Japanese developers is much better, this is Narita by Wing Creation, I paid close to $50 but worth it.CUpDF5W.jpg

Even the name  "Technobrain" just screams scammer haha

I respectfully feel that you are part of the problem then.

If simmers buy such mediocre sceneries from NMG, WingCreation, etc. there is no incentive for these developers to up their game and improve the quality of their offerings.

It makes it all the more galling when the community is willing to provide quality freeware such as this:

I know which sceneries will receive the acclaim and donations that they rightly deserve.
