July 6, 200619 yr Does anyone here know how to get in touch with Cloud9? Have an activation issue with the KLAX scenery. Sent three requests to the [email protected] address they have on the web site and in the scenery docs. No reply. Sent another request from a different computer in case there was a problem with the email on my flight sim machine. No reply. Tried to register on their forum to get some help there, however never got the conformation email. Sent a request for help to another email address on the Cloud 9 site but that gave me an auto response telling me to use the other address or the forum. Would really like to get this issue with the KLAX scenery taken care of, but I need to get in touch with someone at Cloud 9. Thanks for any help.Regards,Joe Regards, Joe Esposito
July 6, 200619 yr It sounds like you are doing the right things. I have never had a problem with contacting Cloud9, and when I did once have an activation issue, it was promptly solved via email. I had no problems registering on their forums either, so although I am not much help, I can assure you that they are a good group to deal with.Activation should normally be automatic, but it will only work on one PC. If you try to install again on a different PC, it will not work, and you will have to request Cloud9 to re-set the activation system at their end. Graeme Butler
July 7, 200619 yr Author Hi Graeme,This is all on the same machine. Seems if you make any hardware changes the scenery is de-activated, and then must be re-activated. Got this "KLAX is properly installed but not activated, do you want to activate it now" message several times a couple of weeks ago when I started FS9. At that point I had not made any changes at all to my machine. Then when I did make a hardware change I get a message upon starting FS9 that I have exceeded the maximum number of activations. I can understand this last time as I did make a hardware change, but I dont know what was up with the earlier ones, there was no reason for the scenery to become de-activated.Regards,Joe Regards, Joe Esposito
July 7, 200619 yr Okay - sounds like they need to reset your code. Let me know if you want me to post a message in their forum, but it is probably best to persevere with the email. Don't forget they are based in Europe so there may be a time-zone difference. Graeme Butler
July 7, 200619 yr Author Thanks,This has covered a three day time frame, so I dont think that is an issue at this point. Will continue with email, unless one of the Cloud9 people see this thread.Regards,Joe Regards, Joe Esposito
July 7, 200619 yr Hi JoeYou can reach Alberto Sangalli directly at [email protected] or drop a message in C9's forum : http://forum.fscloud9.it/Cloud9 provides a very professional and friendly support.Generally, they react very fast. July 7, 200619 yr >... Got this "KLAX is properly installed but not>activated, do you want to activate it now" message several>times a couple of weeks ago when I started FS9. At that point>I had not made any changes at all to my machine...>Hi Joe,I installed a new CPU and this did not trigger the deactivation of Cloud9 EHAM scenery. I then uninstalled my nVIDIA IDE-drivers and this triggered the deactivation of Cloud9 EHAM scenery. I wonder why. In my opinion Cloud9 have a too clever automated deactivation system, but much less automated procedures to get the scenery activated again if you have exceeded the max activations. I don't like this behaviour at all.I posted my opinion about this at the Cloud9 forum and have choosen to uninstall EHAM and not use it any more. This is my way as a customer to show that I dont appreciate what they deliver. I wan't the use of my computer and FS9 to be as easy as possible. I don't mind copy protections, but they must be highly automated on BOTH ends of the deal. I think that the Flight1 system works perfectly well.I hope that Cloud9 will enhance the copy protection system to make automated on BOTH ends and less sensitive to hardware changes other than a change of mobo.Ulf B :-)
July 7, 200619 yr I was thinking of getting this, but my system is a homebrew outfit and I am constantly swapping out various components. Sounds like they took a page from MS. I've made more than one phone call to MS to get Windows XP reactivated. Not all went smoothly. If the author decides to move on to greener patures, you would be up the creek. Fitz
July 7, 200619 yr Author Thank you to Cloud9 for re-setting my KLAX. I have yet to receive any emails from anyone on this issue, so I must assume the problem is on my end with the mail server. Will look into it today. Thanks to all for your help.Regards,Joe Regards, Joe Esposito

Many just don't care and they make it difficult to contact them. These types of problems, and others, happen because they can get away with it. Just make a case to the Better Business Bureau in the US, or if you are from another country use a similar consumer organization. Now, maybe FSCloud9 does care, but it surely makes no sense as to why this fella is being treated this way. This EWorld etiquette needs to get a big smack!

February 26, 200719 yr to me a month or two ago. I gave up the 10 bucks. Guess there are cracks some fall through. They lost a customer. On top of which, I now tend to prefer the photorealistic sceneries ala Justflight; at least that's a representation of the real thing rather than an awkward approximation. 3D will have to wait some qualitative progress and I'm fine with it.
February 26, 200719 yr My motherboard/hard drive fried a few weeks ago and it was a pain to reinstall everything.However-I got an immediate email from Cloud9 sales to my email-still didn't understand the response and went to their forums where I got almost instant answers even though it must have been 4am their time when I posted.I got it reactivated-a pain for sure-took me several attempts-but I found them very helpful.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
