August 19, 200619 yr hi alli just did a flight which lasted about 5 hours using the PMDG 737NG plane and i noticed that once i started the computer indicated to me that the memory usage is 65% but after i finished the flight the memory usage was 75% so Fs continued to use more memory,is this normal?just imagine what the usage would have been for a 10 hour flight. August 19, 200619 yr Make sure you have the FS 9.1 patch installed. It tended to cure some memory leaks especially those in its extended autogen objects.
August 19, 200619 yr i do have version 9.10 installed and i still get memory use getting higher and higher as the flight goes on, i dont think its a memory leak just the poor programming of the software i suppose. I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
August 20, 200619 yr I have seen this happen also with default airplanes. So for me (i am sure) Fs2004 itself also has memory problems.Guy
August 20, 200619 yr Hello,Did you install new sceneries? My experience : you have a landclass.bgl file installed in a scenery folder. If this is the case FS9 will search for a related texture file and load all the textures untill --> not enough memory. August 20, 200619 yr hi no i dont have any additional addons as such only a few freeware airport sceneries thats it.on another note, i checked my FSB on my mobo and it says its running at 200mhz however my mobo says the FSB is 800mhz so how can i increase this? I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
August 20, 200619 yr The problem is the PMDG aircraft. I think it's the .dll file it uses. They deny it, but it's the only time my 2GB system uses over 1GB physical memory. No other add on or scenery in FS2004 has ever used that much. The only other program that has used 1GB mem since is the FSX demo. Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
August 20, 200619 yr yea good point, maybe next time i will 'test' it with the default 737 for 5 hours and see if there is any extra memory use over time. I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
August 20, 200619 yr Clayton - Everything's OK as it is. The 200Mhz number is the system clock speed and the 800Mhz number is the effective FSB speed. Your Intel CPU is sending and receiving data at four times the clock speed, i.e., the CPU is sending data on the FSB four times during each clock cycle. This is called quad-pumping and yields an effective FSB speed of 800Mhz with a 200Mhz clock.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. August 20, 200619 yr I discovered several Landclass BGL files in scenery folders. I moved just the landclass BGLs to another file outside FS.Question: Where do they belong if not in scenery folders? Thanks,Bob
August 20, 200619 yr Author Never get OOM errors with the PMDG planes. I do with the Coolsky Super 80. Shame I can only fly her for an hour as she is very nice. Al Stiff
