December 11, 20187 yr Not being a GA flight sim guy I was interested in the differences between Reality XP and the default provided by P3d? I have noticed that F1 offers a similar product, again I would be interested in comparisons if possible. Just looking for information about purchasing an add-on for my sim, not trying to start an argument. 🙂 Grace and Peace, Edited December 12, 20187 yr by RXP I Earned My Spurs in Vietnam
December 11, 20187 yr If you would like a 99% real Garmin avionics suite for your airplane (GNS or GTN) this is what you would install. By comparison, the P3D default GNS is about 60% real.. As for F1 vs RXP.. read the forums.. They are both great options. Bert

December 11, 20187 yr There's a lot more functionality in the third party GPS units with SIDs and STARs, some VNAV functions etc. In particular I like they draw roads, railways, rivers, name towns and bodies of water so it makes visual navigation that little bit easier. Personally I think the RealityXP offers better value for money than the F1, as both products use Garmin's trainers as their base, RXP is cheaper as a bundle and I think a little more polished. I would go for the GTN series though, the GNS are quite clunky to work as they're not touchscreen and they have four knobs you have to fathom. All else being equal, yes. But each has its place in various aircraft based on any constraints of panel space; GPS gauge type support provided by aircraft model suppliers; and sometimes just plain old fashioned PC (period correctness). December 11, 20187 yr I use GA birds between 60s and 80s mostly, so neither unit is period correct in my case 🤣 I use the GNS simply because it's the only one I own but I wish I'dve got the GTN tbh, it seems to enjoy more support within virtual cockpits these days too. December 12, 20187 yr Author Thanks for the replies. 🙂 I guess my next question would be for a recommendation. My two GAs I like to fly are the Carenado C340 and the classic Milviz C310. I'm using P3d4.4. To start I just want one unit. Grace and Peace, I Earned My Spurs in Vietnam
December 12, 20187 yr Do either of these airplanes have a GNS or GTN integration option? If not, you are out of luck... If yes, the GNS530 or GTN 750 is likely the gauge you want, again if it can be installed in the panel! Edited December 12, 20187 yr by Bert Pieke Bert
December 12, 20187 yr The Carenado comes with a Carenado GNS 430 only. The MV310 has the option to install RXP gauges if I recall GNS and GTN's. Carenado GNS430 can then be switched out using the RXP tool. I think. i started out years ago with the RXP GNS series, of course there were no GTN's then, back when dirt had a new smell. 😉 Edited December 12, 20187 yr by Adrian123

Hi, first things first, both our GNS V2 and GTN are gauges, and like any other gauge, they can be added to any panel. In the case of the GNS V2 it might be easier to fit ALL aircraft because they almost all ship either with the default FltSim GPS500 (a model included in our GNS V2) or they ship with a form or a 530 or a 430. You can read a more detailed answer to you question though, along with suggestions in the second half of my post here: Edited December 12, 20187 yr by RXP
