December 27, 20187 yr I'm confused about exactly what navigation data is used by the DA62 G1000. I'm particularly interested in SIDS, STARS and Waypoints. What is used in the following situtions? 1) No Navigraph or FSAerodata subscription. 2) Current Navigraph Airac. 3) Current Navigraph Airac and FSAerodata Thanks in advance. Tom Tom
December 27, 20187 yr I guess you cannot fly SID/STARS with it. I think they're going to implement it...Im going to wait to buy it until they do. Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom
December 27, 20187 yr I am using Aero sors as it is free but still very confused by all of this. I do not understand what will happen to payware airports when Aero sors or FSAerodata is installed. Now payware airports do not get upgraded 😞 - there has go to be a way over this limitation. This is because payware or any addon scenery, freeware or payware, has its own navaid database hardcoded within the scenery. 3rd party navdata providers such as Fsaerodata or Herve Sors stuff only modify the default database that comes with P3D. Tom By default - G1000 uses only P3D default navdata. Which comes with the sim. If you use FSAerodata - it will update the default navdata to latest Airac but you also need Navigraph subscription. FSAerodata without Navigraph subscription will not work initially. Navigraph authentication is needed on FSAerodata site to download the FSAerodata Airac files. I just did 1 month Navigraph and 3 month FSAerodata sub for testing purposes How I Evaluate Third Party Sim Addon Developers Refined P3Dv5.0 HF2 Settings Part1 (has MaddogX) and older thread Part 2 (has PMDG 747)
December 28, 20187 yr Author You missed question 2. If you only have Navigraph will the G1000 data be any different than the default P3D data? Tom

You can not update P3D default nav data with Navigraph only. You have to have FSAerodata for it to work. Yeah 2 addons are required to work together. Please see their website for full details and other information. A Faq is there too. December 28, 20187 yr As I understand it, the Vertx G1000 uses the navdata that is coded into the P3D scenery bgl file hierarchy. That means you get the data contained in any scenery addons overlaid on top of the default 2005 navdata baked into the default P3D scenery unless you use something like FSAerodata to update the default scenery bgl files themselves. Navigraph AIRAC data alone only replaces user databases associated with specific add-ons (flight planning, aircraft, ATC, etc).
