Looking for a virtual airline

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I’ve just signed up to this site to look for some recommendations about joining the right virtual airline.

This is what I’m looking for:

-          Based on real-world operations/schedules. It doesn’t matter if the VA simulates only a single airline or offers the possibility to fly for more partners like in an airlines alliance.

-          Allows offline flights

-          Preferred aircraft are 777/747 and occasionally A320/737.

-          Offers many different tours. I’m not really creative when It comes to what should I fly next, so I prefer tours like world tours, hub tours, etc.

-          A fair ranking system. I wouldn’t mind 50 hours on short-haul routes, but 500 hours grinding one-hour flights to get to the big jets isn’t what I’m looking for.

I don’t really care for:

-          Where the airline is located

-          If you can only start your next flight from the current location

Thank you in advance for your input and please excuse my poor English. If anything is unclear please feel free to ask.

I am looking forward to join you in the virtual skies.

Max

I’m not into virtual airlines, It’s not really my thing but I seen a lot of praise for British virtual airways...I’m not sure what they offer but Might be worth a look.

Emirates virtual is one of the most flexible VAs around, you can fly a 777/a380 on any real-life route (ranks don't decide the planes you can fly). you can also fly any plane on charter flights. We also have cargo ops and codeshares! Emirates-virtual uses icrew v4.4 (we were the first airline to use this version). There are frequent events and tours with prizes such as addons and discounts on partnered stores. If you are interested, we can also provide pilot training.

Consider Thomas Cook Virtual. As the name suggests, we are indeed based on the now defunct Thomas Cook Airlines. Our hubs are in the UK, but we fly to more than 80 destinations in over 30 countries.

Our first ranks are increments of 5/10 hours, but the gap slowly increases the higher ranked you become. We have no rank requirements for flying specific aircraft.

We currently fly the A321 and A330, but are currently introducing the 757, 767 and 737.

I would suggest to have a look at the following lists.

https://va-list.com

Note that some, but not all, of the Vasops airlines require you to fly online. In my experience, VAs associated with Vatsim are generally of good quality.

I have found one to be the right balance for me.  They have a very nice website that is original to them.  The pilot community is extremely active, like to the point where they have become my second family.  They are a Delta themed virtual airline, but also allow you to fly SkyTeam and Delta's other partners like Hawaiian.  I have been a part of virtual airlines for over 15 years and this by far has been my most pleasant experience.

The VA I am referring to is The Delta Virtual.  The website address is https://www.thedeltavirtual.com
