And for what it's worth, 188AHC is right.  Please keep it more on topic.

I'm as keen as anyone to explore the new FS2020 world that Microsoft will offer.

Though without knowing what is going to be implemented and where, this thread would seem rather premature...

It would be nice if we have realistic soaring, the kind we got with CumulusX and a quality sailplane.  I'd like to explore that again.

Lots of people are mentioning helicopters.  I enjoyed the Dodosim 206 in FSX.  Something else I want to test with the new sim.

Which is why I made a list of the things I intend to test.

To take one example, the flight from Innsbruck to Neuschanstein castle is interesting in any case, and I want to see if the castle is there and if so what it looks like.  If it's not there, nothing is lost and I'll fly back to Innsbruck.  In other words, it doesn't matter if it's there or not.  It's not there in FSX or P3D.  There are versions available elsewhere for download.

A test plan is not premature.  These are not just scenic flights.

Helicopters for sure, especially if VR is going to be part of the picture (I hope!)

VR, or in my case TrackIR, makes helicopter flights possible. 🙂  It's a whole new world.

And something not even related to flying:  Will the world be adaptable for other kinds of simming?  If I have the proper model, can I sail the HMS Surprise into and out of Mahon harbor in Minorca?  Could I drive a car on the road system?  Could I fly into a remote spot in Alaska and do big game hunting?  Any chance of exploring shipwrecks with a minisub?  Could I conceivable fly the space shuttle and dock with the space station?

Actually doing these will require additions that my not exist for a long time if ever, but I'll be testing the feasibility in any case.

Pie in the sky?  Not for a developer.

So I can say anything and just talk about testing at the end and we’re good?

It’s all good man I’m just busting your balls a little. All meant in just good fun, truly

I did all the same things with P3Dv2.5 and P3Dv4 when I got them.  I've even talked to a ship developer about the possibility of converting his model to P3D.  I can write whatever code is necessary but I can't make the models.  Unfortunately, P3D isn't suitable for this.  I was looking for this the first time I watched the video.  "Hey, that harbor looks pretty good!  We could use that."

Let me get us back on track:)

It would be cool to see the Biltmore Estate in East Tennessee as well as other landmarks in Tennessee.

And the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee and North Carolina

And for sure the U.S.S. Arizona War Memorial Oahu Island, Honolulu, Hawaii ( it was in MS Flight ) With history information if you hover over it or something

And Telluride , KTEX in Colorado, one of my favorite and please a mission for it.

And a ton of mission's for sure and a GUI mission creator. Not holding my breath on this one. But I hope we can create our own for the community.

The FSW one was really nice but it needs a GUI interface and a Workshop to upload for the community.

A Jobs Board? Time for a $100 Hamburger flight 🙂

I'll think of more. I want to have FUN and enjoy the sim.

Multiplayer for sure, so we can hunt down the "Serious Simmer's" 🙂 Never mind they won't be on there cause the kiddie's will be having FUN 🙂

You do know if they have a multiplayer, you will probably be able to add a Password for your fellow simmer's to fly with you. And keep me and the kiddie's away.

First thing I'll do (concerning flight plans and checking out the world) is check out Norway. I really can't imagine it will look like anything from the trailer but I'd like to keep my hopes high! 😉 I surely hope and sort of expect Norway to look better in MFS than it does in default FSX...! 🙄

Second thing I'll do is check out all the 'next gen cityscapes'.

Next thing I am interested in are how you can move around in the world. I am a bit afraid the upcoming Deadstick will spoil me a little when it comes to how you move around in the simulated world... In Deadstick you can, no, you HAVE to walk around the plane to inspect it, to repair it if needed and to load it, you actually have to walk to the office of the airport to get the latest METAR (which won't be updated until you check it again in whatever office is close to you), heck, when you crash your plane you can actually walk all the way back to the airport (although they luckily offer a service for that LOL)! I presume that in MFS I will be stuck to the cockpit as usual... Obviously external views aren't the same as actually being able to walk around the world anywhere and anytime you want to. But hey, who knows what MS will come up with! Anyway, this is one of the things I will test ASAP too.

Of course I am also interested in aircraft functionality, weather, ATC, etc. but those things are less related to the initial subject of this topic, I think.

The Biltmore Estate is in North Carolina. I visited the place in May 1994.
