Yeah I think they would have told us insiders to look out for Gamescom. I'm into gaming in general so I'll watch the rest of it anyway.

Interestingly the press release for it says that an independent studio in Seattle is making it, containing former Microsoft flight simulator developers (presumably ex-aces people)

And coincidentally it is being released in 2020 aswell. Maybe a different group of the same studio is working on this ? Using the same game engine and assets. Some more info in this video.

Don’t think so. Different companies. 

I browsed the Gamescon news for anything on FS2020 but instead learned about Kerbal Space Program 2!!!!

So while my search was a failure I still came away very excited for an entirely different upcoming game.  KSP2 looks and sounds fantastic.  I have hundreds of hours played with KSP1, one of my favorite games of all time.  Also Minecraft with ray tracing looks phenomenal, that’s another game I have hundreds of hours played with.

Still, I wish Microsoft had shown something on FS2020.

Seems - after that trailer - in 2020 I won't leave my PC any more 😛
