I've been flying a lot in the KVPS area and at this time of the year, there are some thunderstorms but this is the first time I see such a black cloud.

Probably too dark for a thunderstorm. I would think it's a shader issue or any of your weather addons that's causing this strange look.

On a side note, if you like to experience this type of weather often, don't forget to takeoff from KVPS!, it's almost raining all the time!.

Thank you all for your testimonials and especially BillS511, skully and timest who posted pictures.

timest, as I uinderstand, you are a REX developer, maybe of Sky Force. Do you confirm that what BillS511, skully and me are seeing and reporting are thunderstorms clouds? If so do you have an idea of what is causing those black clouds since since they are different from your screenshot? If you need more infos to make a diagnosis I will be happy to provide.

Too bad these were not UFO's because then we would have independent photographic verification that no, we are not alone. 👽

But then again said pics would have probably been scrubbed by now and I wouldn't be here posting this. 👁️‍🗨️

My thunderstorm clouds look nothing like that and I use SkyForce 3d. That looks great! Mine look more like the other pics. Maybe PTA is making certain TCBs darker?

Well apparently you guys at REX have created a monster and now it's out of control wreaking havoc across the south and midwest. 😲

This is great, just great...

I googled 'Yellowstone National Park, 1988':

Quote

The Yellowstone fires of 1988 collectively formed the largest wildfire in the recorded history of Yellowstone National Park in the United States - Wikipedia.

FS2024

The 1988 fire burned something like 1.2 million acres (486,000 hectares) in/around the park.  I flew President Bush's limousine into Jackson Hole on a C-141B when he went there to see the damage, and our crew drove around many of the fresh burn areas.  I was so taken by the place I took the entire family camping there the next summer.  We've been back several times after I retired, and it's just stunning how well it has recovered after 30 years--the trees are now 30-40 feet tall, with the occasional burned snag still sticking up above the tops of the new growth as a silent reminder.

Hi Tony,

It is definitely REX in your shot(s), however, something is amiss as it shouldn't be that dark. Are you using shaders or other sky textures?

Here is another example shot testing some new content we are finishing up for Sky Force. This shot is with Environment Force as well.

Hello timest,

Only shaders I tried once is ENVSHADE.

I uninstalled but there might be some left overs.

I already deleted and reconstucted the shader folders.
