Difference between A318/A319 & A320/A321 Professional

Featured Replies

I've clicked on the add in the top right but before buying, I've spent two days trying to find the difference between the AS A318/A319 and A320/A321 for P3D and just can't find it. All I find is the difference between Fslabs or the Xtended versions. What I would like to know is the difference between the package.

Because of the bundle offer, is the technology of both packages the same, or is the A320/A321 just a newer update of the A318/319 ? or is it just the length and passenger capacity and range of the aircraft. In P3D do both packages have the same performance, same engine ect... If you have the A320 why would you want the A318 for example ?

Yes.

No. Just as in real life, different airframe, different performance.

It's like PMDG's offering for the NGX 737. Two packages for all the Airbus A320 family.

Difference is that they are independent of each other, wheras to use the -600 and 700 package from PMDG you need the -800/900 base package.

Actually, there are several key differences between these aircraft.  Just a few examples:

With our Airbus, you actually get 7 different aircraft, not 4.  This is due some of the variants having the IAE engines and others having the CFM engines.  The different engine performance is modeled, and the IAE operate and have different performance measurements (readouts on the ECAM) than the CFM engines do, so it's far from just different looking engines externally.

The A318 and A319 also have differences, such as the Short Field package.

For more info, just Google the differences in the real world aircraft, and you'll find the differences modeled in our Airbuses as well.

We have a major announcement coming next week about our Flight Sim / Connected Flight Deck Community.  You'll find this information in our forums, which is also an awesome place to ask questions about our products.

My very best wishes!

The FSLabs version is pretty impressive, and well worth the cost of entry if you want to most accurate Airbus for P3D. As a real-world Airbus pilot, I'm pretty impressed with the systems modeling.

Hope this helps with your decision.

Honestly as a starter As is just fine. Tons of opportunities plus nice looks. There are some differences between the a318,19,21: a318 has steep approach mode, a319 and 20 have the same overhead panel. A321 has more fuel switches and the packs are different too. If it runs fine for you you wont be dissapointed. There are some random bugs that happen out of nothing sometimes on some pcs. Idk why but support is a bit unclear as to why. If you have flown extensively the pmdg ngx for example i'd say go for the fsl because you will enjoy it more in the long term. Who knows, maybe their a321 will come out next month, i dont know. They are both good, but they share different point of views. as has better fps too

If you want a nice-to-fly Airbus, the Aerosoft 318-321 are really good. It looks great, it flies very smooth.

I learned it in the past weeks and now im addicted, every evening a 1-2 hours trips (offline, with the P3D ATC, Checklists and Co-Pilot off, i want to fly it alone).

Also, it has some very comfortable functions:

- The integrated Fuel/load Planner, that generates the loadsheet.

- The integrated Company Route Editor.

- Full integration of GSX and Active Sky (and other tools)

- Integrated browser based app of the MCDU (e.g. via IPAD - i use it permanently)

I must really say, i love it.

My next learning project is the 737 NGX...which will be much more work.

very nice, from the description it says that it has RAAS locked to the aircraft, can I ask if you use it or how it is ?

RAAS is cool and adds to the cockpit ambiance but is not a must-have. It simply tells you on which runway you are or approaching. Unless you disable / uninstall RAAS, it is ON by default.

To add to what's been said...with RAAS you will hear a voice say, as you taxi onto the runway, "ON RUNWAY ONE-SEVEN RIGHT", or "APPROACHING RUNWAY ONE-SEVEN RIGHT" as you fly in.  Good aid for spatial awareness especially at big airports.
