Given that I've just reinstalled the RVs into P3D after a substantial amount of swearing and sweating, I'm definitely up for that!

Here is the downloadable flightplan in pln and gfp formats:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/f062pgur8ycedjp/KUAO-KBDN.zip?dl=1

BTW:  KBDN is also known as S07..

We will be starting in Aurora, and ending in Bend, with a scenic flight along the Columbia River, and a visit to Mt Hood, enroute.

Aurora is the headquarters of VAN's aircraft..

https://www.vansaircraft.com/company/

First stop is McMinnville, home of the Spruce Goose..

https://www.evergreenmuseum.org/the-spruce-goose

..and Bend is the original location of the Columbia Aircraft Company, before its sale to Cessna.

"Suggested" scenery.. Orbx  PNW and CRM regions both add a lot of detail to this part of the world..  Orbx Portland Cityscape (freeware) is also worth having.  Then there are payware airports in this region which some of you may have installed.   We can certainly visit 7S3 Stark's after leaving McMinnville..  😃

Hi Folks,

Any of you guys follow along with the "Flying Cowboys" ? They make some pretty incredible videos... Not too shabby for Rotax power...

Regards,
Scott

Scott, that is an engaging video. Those guys are great.

And Roman: No ordinary taildragger can stand in this one's place. Guessing that this is not a factory paint scheme.

Did it come with the optional dice hanging from the rear-view mirror?

Back to our flight... I am finding the scenery load around 7S3 to be very high..

Good idea to disable scenery that you do not need for this flight

Excellent flight plan, Bert. That's going through some very nice scenery. I used to drive pretty much that route, for ski trips to Mt Bachelor near Bend.

Unfortunately my flight plan for today reads:

WARR - WIII - WIMM - EGLL

and I won't be back in time (currently waiting at the gate at WIII). I'll try to fly your plan tomorrow if I'm compos mentis.

That looks like a pretty long flight Nick...

13 hours from WIMM to EGLL.  And that was after the earlier two flights of 1 and 2 hours each.  It was a 30 hour long day that started at 2:30am.

Will have a go at Bert's flight plan later when I think I'm awake enough to fly....

Bert,

Great flight!! The theme really hit home on this one :))
The pictures just came back from Walgreens developing.. Can view here if wanted.

Gunter, and the rest of Sunday's crew...
Plans surprisingly changed last minute.. I wonder what? 😉
Hope it was a good one - was looking forward to it.

Edit -- Couldn't find the article about the person building a kitplane in his 2nd floor apartment and then cutting out the wall to get it out.. (( I believe it was in Norway.
Anyway, found this one instead - still a good story.
