October 2, 20196 yr I accidentally found a way to make AFX work in P3Dv4. If this is redundant I apologize, but my browsings have never found a way to make it work. Enable the Estonia Migration Tool. Open AFX, click FSX and watch the airport collection bar start loading airports. It takes quite a bit of time but once you're done you're done. From now on the tool will work on P3Dv4 with or without Estonia enabled and as far as I have taken it you can delete, add, and move parking spaces, taxi lines, and all the rest. You must save the file to Addon Scenery/Scenery and have it at the top of the scenery library. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
October 2, 20196 yr Why bother.... ADE is free and has more features than AFX, and works with P3Dv4. I'd advise using the Estonia migration tool simply because of the very large number of problems it can cause. Basically, it's a hack of your registry with no way to undo it's damage. Dan Downs KCRP
October 3, 20196 yr Author More features than AFX but not as easy to use. If all you want to do is add a parking spot or change a taxiway or just look up a parking spot to go to AFX is almost turnkey. I've had no problems using Estonia. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
October 3, 20196 yr Of course, ade is really flexible and does a lot, but the way AFX was designed and it's precision, it was a must-have, unfortunately, they didn't make any money so they stop to support it.
October 3, 20196 yr the only thing that AFC has and ADE not - is that you can multi select parking spots by dragging the mouse. in AdE you have to click each parking separately to multiselect.

In ADE you can easily multi-select spots by pulling up a list of the parking spots from the dropdown menu and multi-selecting them there using standard ctrl-click or shift-click selections. I don't find it at all difficult to use...it's pretty intuitive. At any rate, lack of P3Dv4 support in AFX makes it functionally obsolete at this point in time. I am sorry, but please don't be smarter then everyone))) I make a lot of afcads, and I need to see what I select. If it is one terminal in AFX you just drag the mouse, it selects everything and holding shift you click on the parking sports - it only selects parkings in the selection range. In ADE if you select a lot of objects - you just select a lot of objects. https://library.avsim.net/search.php?CatID=root&SearchTerm=polovinka&Sort=Added&ScanMode=0&Go=Change+View
October 3, 20196 yr I am not familiar with AFX. What makes adding a parking spot easier with AFX than it is with Airport Design Editor? Do you think that lends credibility somehow to what you're saying, even when it's incorrect? I make and edit a lot of airport files as well, and ADE makes it pretty easy. If I want to select all the spots at a terminal, I pull up the list, do a quick sort, click on the first one in the list, and then shift-click on the last one. And voila, they're all selected and highlighted in the graphical view pane as well. If there are any outliers, I can ctrl-click on them individually to select or deselect them, just as I'd have to do in AFX if I couldn't fit everything into a drag box or if a square drag box picks up spots I didn't want. Again, you do NOT have to click on each spot individually to multi-select in ADE.
