October 11, 20196 yr I cannot believe the airport worker. I would think there is something near the tank that states "100 octane low-leaded fuel only" or "no jet fuel". But, when the pilot is the only other witness and he's no longer with us, it is hard to dispute the workers claim. May the pilot rest in peace! Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! I made sure it was gas and not Jet A, If they had put Jet A in your gas plane, how difficult would it have been to siphon out the Jet A? Does it require any flushing or cleaning of the tanks/fuel system? Or can they simply siphon out the Jet A, put gas/100LL in, and go? I would hate to find out at 150 ft AGL, when the prop stops turning, that there was still Jet A in the fuel lines.
October 11, 20196 yr The fuel caps should have had the fuel type embossed on them. The preflight and sump drains should have been a clue too. Regardless of the obvious mistakes, I feel for his family and patients. Thank you.
