October 14, 20196 yr Hello I just reinstall W10 Pro and all ini files shown as WordPad. How can I shown them as ini again? Google did not help much, Thanks I9-13900K | ASUS ROG Strix Z790-E Gaming LGA 1700 | MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 24GB | CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE LCD Liquid Cooler | CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM 64GB (2X36) 5200MHx DDR5 | Thermaltake GF3 1650W 80+ Gold PSU | Samsung QN90C Neo QLED TV 50”
October 14, 20196 yr Right click on one of the files, select properties; In the General tab, which is the first to show click on change and pick the .exe of the app that you want to open the file. BTW, if the app isn't on the list click on the 'More apps' link at the bottom of the list. If it still isn't in that list, then click on the 'Look for another app on this PC' link.
October 14, 20196 yr Unless I misunderstand you, the ini file is still an ini file. It opens with Wordpad. You can change it to open with Notepad in Settings/Apps/Default apps/Choose default apps by file type. Bob i5, 16 GB ram, GTX 960, FS on SSD, Windows 10 64 bit, home built works anyway.

What am I doing renaming it to .exe? This is ini file. Yes, exe is not on the app list. If I select Look for another App on this PC it opens a window with other folders. What do I need to do then? Just tine .exe in the File name window? I would like to see ini files as ini in my folders not liek WordPad. I use Notepad++ and it wasn't on the list, so I had to find it and click on 'notepad++.exe' to make it the app to open .ini files. If you use Windows Notepad, then you won't need to do that since it will be in the list.

I prefer Notepad++ too, both at home and work 🙂 You can use "settings" -> "Prferences" and set the desired file extenstion to open as default. Sometimes that method doesn't work though. 🙂 Edited October 15, 20196 yr by Jude Bradley Jude BradleyBeech Baron: Uh, Tower, verify you want me to taxi in front of the 747?ATC: Yeah, it's OK.
