What do look forward to with FSX?

Featured Replies

Get more RAM and a beefier video card, like a 6800 GS. FSX likes 2 GB of RAM and at least 256 MB of video memory. At least, it made quite a difference in my setup.

Wow-I bet you had high cht's with the dead bird in there.I almost hit a buzzard over Rock Springs, Wyoming years ago-but so far have been pretty lucky knock on wood. Glad you made it with only a bad smell to deal with.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

My comment is _exactly_ about great scenery appreciation.

I am an avid globetrotter with my trusty Lufthansa B777F, Polar Air Cargo B744F, and Atlas Air B748F.

Interesting results from fellow simmers. One thing that I've read mixed reports on was that different dielects and animals are only in missions and not in the free flight. If dielects in different countries were true and in the sim then I would say that.

ppl make the claim that they will not update.... pre release but they always upgrade. Things will work out just fine Regards,Vern

Just as it happened when upgrading from FS2000 to FS2004, I will take plenty of time before upgrading. Right now I enjoy detailed airports all around the world (3rd party addons), realistic weather and sky textures (ASv6), realistic cockpit environments and operations (Level-D, PMDG, etc), real-world traffic (UT), etc etc.I flew many hours with the FSX demo and unfortunately it didn't give me the "ooh I want this RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW" feeling. Surely, the graphics are better and the dynamic scenery is a nice candy improving the environment while the pilot movement during different forces in VC view adds a lot to the whole experience.I'm not a typical anti-FSX whiner, but I tend to look into this whole upgrade more realistic. So, when and only when FSX can offer the bug-free realism I get now from FS9 (as mentioned above), I will think about upgrading my system and my FS version.

I'am looking forward to the "absolute and ultimate tweak of the year for FSX" - the final tweak which will improve your FPS magically by at least 50% and the only tweak you'll ever need :)And then reading a 20+ pages long thread about how this tweak does or does not work for some people. Or make things worse than they were ever before... or how it blew up their system or killed their pets :)Seriously, a more dynamic world is always welcome in any flight simulation product, improved ATC can also add a lot and the copilot feature looks like a really cool thing. But as long as I cannot fly my favorite aircrafts and use my favorite scenery + other addons in FSX with acceptable framerates, I won't care much about it and I certainly won't uninstall FS9.A plain FS9 install certainly lacks a lot compared to FSX, but there are so many addons which can bring FS9 to a new level and close the gap to a default FSX install (of course, that will change when addons begin to appear for FSX).

I am looking forward to someone finishing this sim. Literally finishing the work that has been started. ATC included.

>All of those are just going to work fine in FS9.>>ricardoWell that was a pointless post since you don't plan on getting FSX :-rollLooking forward to the great water, dense autogen, the dynamic living world, the enhanced AI (ships and such), the higher res textures, the improved weather preformance, the new MP aspects and getting my hands on the SDKsAlso doing repaints with the new bumpmapping should be fun.Regards, MichaelKDFW
