November 11, 20196 yr Wow..what a waste of money when all you really need is a VR headset 🙂 My MSFS 2020 repaints: Flightsim.to - Profile of HStreet Working on MSFS 2024 versions.

But that said, if they were participating in World Flight as they said they were, I'm guessing they were doing a live stream of it in order to raise money for charity, in which case I don't know that a VR headset would really help since you're also interacting with your viewers as you fly. Captain Kevin Air Kevin 124 heavy, wind calm, runway 4 left, cleared for take-off. Live streams of my flights here.

Hi Kevin, some internet sarcasm from me. I am a believer that what commercial and/or IFR certified pilots do in the cockpit cannot be emulated with current VR technology. Having spoken with some instructors who are trying out VR, they say it makes a huge difference for general flying/VFR, but the lack of ability to read charts in the cockpit with sufficient resolution along with other things that IFR pilots have to do, makes it not so good for IFR training. November 11, 20196 yr For IFR training or the "I-m-a-serious-simmer" gamers, probably home cockpit is better (for now). Simulating the real feeling and sensations of flying (i.e. looking the sky above and the world below, instead of being head down on instruments and a kneeboard), anyone agrees VR is unbeatable. Happy to discuss in detail my experiences in VR actually trying to emulate real world pilots with you. Would prefer to do it in another forum or PM. My experience discussing here at Avsim has not been very positive. I know you guys are working with US military in some capacity as is A2A. There are some things VR does well, such as formation familiarization. Other things it does very poorly or not at all, such as muscle memory. Anyway, if you want to discuss, let me know when and where and happy to learn and give what i know.
