2 days, 2 flights, 2 CTD's, all since Win10 1909 it seems

Featured Replies

Both happened after long flights on final decent. Sim paused for maybe 30 seconds with blue circle cursor and Not Responding, then crashed to desktop.

Notable and only change in system recently was update of Windows to 1909 from 1903. On 1903 P3D was rock solid for months.

Anyone else?

I installed 1909 one day after it became available and made several flights in P3D since (including right now), no CDT so far.

But you certainly have different hardware, different planes or other addons installed, different configuration ... you never know.

Kind regards, Michael

Thankfully not. Been using 1909 for quite a while now, as part of the Release Preview insider ring, haven't had a single issue with P3D.

Hmm. Also updated nVidia GeForce drivers from 441.08 to 441.20. Anyone else using 441.20 succesfully?

No issues with NV441.20 and W1909 here. Would be worth a while to look at error logs and see what actually caused sim to crash.

Yeah, on 441.20 as well, everything's good. Unfortunately, I think your issue might lie elsewhere.

The question of the day, what did App Crash Viewer say caused the CTD.?

I'm on NV441.08 yet.

Seems every single time there is a new update there’s a post from someone blaming it for their ctd problems, along with the also now accustomed slew of messages from ppl saying “nope, works fine for me..” 🙂

I know...really beyond the pale. What do these people think forums are for anyway?!

For those too serious-minded to realize it, that was supposed to be sarcasm.

These forums are weird.

I asked two simple questions, and some people go off on one...

Ta. It looks like Environment Force was crashing in the background.

Thanks to those who answered the original 2 questions asked and didn't give a dissertation on how to maintain a PC, which I have over 35 years experience of professionally.

I don't think anyone did that. You seem to be a bit hostile with your 35 years of experience. 🙄

I think it's irresponsible to suggest to someone who's technical ability you have no idea about that they should enter into running low level system commands like DISM, and that even before you have any idea what the actual problem is

For an inexperienced user that is more like to cause problems than solve them.

I'm not hostile at all. But I am protective of the inexperienced.

It wasn't my intention to offend anyone, and I apologise if that happened inadvertently, but I think if you look back, my opening two questions were very light and simple, has anyone had a crash since updating to 1909 or the latest GeForce, and the response I got was to start overhauling my entire operating system without caution.
