October 12, 200619 yr I can understand that the AVSIM moderators don't want to move posts and police this forum even more. But at the moment we even have a dedicated 'CTD forum'. Why not make a 'FS9 section' or an 'Older FS versions' section. This way we could have a dedicated easy to follow FS9 forum while the main forum will still get swamped by FS-X posts and the look at me I want to say this in the best looked at section of this board posts.
October 12, 200619 yr >Please Give us a dedicated FS9 forum.I suggest a "Dedicated FSX" forum instead, since my crystal ball says that the majority of simmers will be FS9 simmers, atleast for a couple of years more. ;-)http://www.scandicair.com/images/sa_banner.gifFSX..:-hmmm...nah.. October 12, 200619 yr "But at the moment we even have a dedicated 'CTD forum'"Not only do we have a CTD forum but also separate FSX forums for Simconnect and Missions.Surely we could have another one for FSX or FS9. I've nothing against FSX but won't contemplate it until I get round to buying a new, more powerful PC. I'm not prepared to do that simply to run FSX when my present FS9 set-up still meets my needs. When I find I need a new PC I'll make sure that it's FSX capable but until then... Gerry Howard
October 12, 200619 yr That is correct.... any CDT, from any version of FS, is welcomed there. Just as any general FS post is welcomed here. You showed the point beautifully. Maybe people should see that a posting dealing with one FS version MAY help in other versions as well?Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
October 12, 200619 yr But the Simconnect and Mission forums are solely for FSX! So they doesn't show the point beautifully. Gerry Howard
October 12, 200619 yr My vote is also for a dedicated FS9 forum - can see a lot of people sticking with FS9 for atleast a year or so -me included. So whose Avsim being run for the benefit of? - don't give your customers what they want they'll go elsewhere.

October 12, 200619 yr Count me in as sticking with fs9 only for quite some time. I can tell just from looking at some post subjects that I made the right decision :)While everyone in FSX is tweaking, testing, upgrading hardware, etc, I'm off flying! I agree about a separate forum for FS9 users. This is easily my favorite FS forum, however I hate to say, but there is little reason for me to come here anymore. The flood of FSX posts is just too much, and there is little of interest for FS9. Actually, there might be good discussions, but they end up on page 4 before I get a chance to look. FSX isn't even fully out everywhere yet, so we haven't even begun to see the flood yet. If past releases are any indication, things will not calm down for quite some time. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
October 12, 200619 yr Just as the "MS Flight Simulator General Discussion Forum" contains all posts relating to any MS Flight Simulation. Once again this shows things beautifully. You are all doing wonders in showing how things work.Keep posting the "I want a FS04 forum" posts.:-) :-) :-) :-) Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
October 12, 200619 yr Jim, you are so funny! :( Why do you bother intervening in this thread which seems going against your religious belief of a "ONE & ONLY FS FORUM"? Why can't you accept that many of us are not against FSX but merely not yet concerned.BrunoHappy FS9 FlyerProud Ultimate Terrain FanActive Scores-of-Free-Addons UserLucky owner of Magnificent FS9 PaywaresVancouver+ Irremediable AddictFsGenesis Mesh Insatiable Consumer
October 13, 200619 yr >then Tom locked the thread saying everyone will be getting FS10, and>that was the end of it.He is badly mistaken, not everyone has a system that will run it. Now from my experience in the past, know that many will be running FS9, possibly for years. He will just force us to leave AVSIM, and communicate on other forums which will allow FS9 in seperate forums. That in my opinion is not good for AVSIMs business, to send us elsewhere. It will probably be at least a year before I can upgrade to a computer to run it.
October 13, 200619 yr Hi Bruno,It's not my belief, it's the decision of Tom, the reasons he gave, at the time that that he posted about this. If he changes his mind, great! If not, then so be it! Kind of reminds me of my 14 year old students asking to go to the bathroom every 15 seconds fully knowing what my answer will be, even before asking; they just can't take "no" for an answer.Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Let's keep asking and hope common sense will prevail.
