October 9, 200619 yr As far as I know, there is still a good bunch of FS9 users (just look at the library daily posts!)AVSIM should split this forum into FS9 and FSX. As long as we have not purchased the soft, the interminable discussions about the good and the bad of the new version is often meaningless to us.
October 10, 200619 yr Already brought up many times and it isn't going to happen.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. October 10, 200619 yr A more than valid point! The many FSX post make the forum almost unusable for me as I continue with FS9 and have no plans to migrate soon.Andreas Andreas, LOWW - Nihil sumus et fuimus mortales. Respice, lector: In nihil ab nihilo quam cito recidimus.
October 10, 200619 yr I agree with the first poster.I have spent way too much time in the last 3 years getting FS9 how i want it... I now want to spend some time flying.FSX will have to waitPeter Peter Schluter
October 10, 200619 yr I think there should be a temporary forum for FSX, until the performance revelations blow over :-lol-------------------------------------------If it doesn't have a VC I won't be concerned :) Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"
October 10, 200619 yr But, I agree we should have one. October 10, 200619 yr FS9 still rocks IMO, when there is stuff like this available http://jeff.lumacs.net/Do-27FlyinRoundPortland.wmvI think FS9 is going to be around for a lot longer than FS2k2. Dave Taylor
October 10, 200619 yr I agree with a single FS9 section. If FSX has made me realize anything it's just how good FS9 really is.Cheers Nels
October 10, 200619 yr I agree !!FS 9 will be on many simmer computers until FSX can be run smothly on a n avarage system. When reading the forums, it is quite obvious that there will be only a handful simmers who will be able to run the sim today with an exceptional 20 fps, after a day or two with heavily tweaking. And that is with default stuff only !!! :-lol :-lolI don Staffan
October 10, 200619 yr Add my name to those wishing to split the forums. I was chomping at the bit to get FSX but after the demos and reading others experiences I'll be maintaining my FS9 install for a good while to come. Come on Tom how about reconsidering the recent merge !!!JimBob"Master of the Sr. Moment"
October 10, 200619 yr Author I'm shocked this thread is still open! I brought this up last weekend, and all I got is 1 "smart as_ed" answer, and then Tom locked the thread saying everyone will be getting FS10, and that was the end of it. I had to bite my tongue and not respond to the censorship, because I knew it would get me nowhere. With my addon's, I agree I will not be going to FS10 soon. With all the detail and performance I have now, I enjoy flying with FS9, and do not want to start the cycle all over again! With the number of us staying with FS9, and supporting the developers of products out there, all we are asking for is our own thread, so we may still support ourselves without going through all the posts about tweaking FS10!Rick
October 10, 200619 yr Am I missing something here?Is it illegal to have both fs9 and fsx on your computer at the same time and enjoy both?
October 10, 200619 yr Have both on one system and you're in for a bunch of problems in the future.I did this once with FS2002 and FS9, and never will repeat that again. One sim per PC is my rule.Better buy another swappable hard drive...Andreas Andreas, LOWW - Nihil sumus et fuimus mortales.
