Windows Mode or Full Screen Mode

Featured Replies

Hello

I am using V4.5 with  4k monitor with GTX 1080 graphics card

I thought that I had read that it was advisable to run P3D in Windows Mode, am I correct?  It appears that many  users are using full screen mode.  I request clarification

Why don't you simply try both and see which one works better for you?  (I'm running P3D fullscreen)

The only difference I see is that the title bar disappears in full screen.  Frame rates are the same.

I've read (either here or on the LM forum) that since early versions, P3D's full screen mode is really window mode also, just without the borders drawn, so it's no wonder the performance/visuals are the same.

In 4k the more screen needed to be drawn can drop the fps. Try reducing the size even further and fps can go up.

This is typically when you are on the limits.

Exactly right. There is no full-screen mode. Just a borderless window..........Doug

If you want to use your computer for other task while you are simming, then go windowed mode. You really don't want to minimize P3D to taskbar. If not, then it's purely a matter of preference.
