June 15, 20205 yr I too have struggled most of the weekend with finding a way to import a .gdp flightplan. I have no "Import" button. I do have the KSLE_KSLE.gdp along with the .gdp I created in Simbrief in C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\Databases\FPLN I've tried multiple uninstall/re-installs, installing in P3Dv5 only, even uninstalling my RealityXP GTN 750 for X-Plane... still no joy. I have no "Import" button or import functionality from the Catalog in P3Dv5, P3Dv4 or even X-Plane. I am able to create and save a flightplan directly in the GTN 750 but cannot import. Here are the contents of my log files: rxpGTN.gau.log: 20/06/15 06:30:45.989 20904 - ] # rxpGTN.dll version 2.5.26.0 20/06/15 06:30:45.988 20904 INFO ] rxpGTN.xpl.log: 20/06/15 06:30:45.989 20904 - ] # rxpGTN.dll version 2.5.26.0 20/06/15 06:30:45.988 20904 INFO ] fxpGtnSim.dll.log: 20/06/15 06:30:48.410 20904 - ] # rxpGtnSim64.dll version 2.5.26.0 20/06/15 06:30:48.409 20904 INFO ] 20/06/15 06:30:50.691 03704 INFO ] GTN 750.1 - TRAINER 6624 20/06/15 06:31:47.979 03704 INFO ] GTN 750.1 - TRAINER 6624 20/06/15 07:58:00.304 03704 INFO ] GTN 750.1 - TRAINER 6624 (No reference to the C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\Databases\FPLN folder) I've read through the user manual, I've even tried creating a shortcut to a "GTN Flightplans" folder in the C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\Databases\FPLN folder. Nothing I have tried to this point has allowed me to access to any import functionality. Thanks in advance for any suggestions! June 15, 20205 yr @BigG433 Hi, it is the 2nd report of the same problem, which I hope will help us find a common root cause and solution. Please allow us more time to investigate whether there is a breaking change with the latest trainer.
June 15, 20205 yr Thanks for the response Jean-Luc. Please let me know if I can provide additional information. June 15, 20205 yr update: quick review didn't show anything particular with the latest trainer and all is working on our end. One thing you can try is this (see RXP manual "troubleshooting" for more info) edit the RealityXP.GTN.ini file in the aircraft folder add the following line (in bold):[GTN_750_1] ...LogTrainer = 5 ... start the simulator, try access the Flight Plan Catalog menu (Flight Plan, Menu, Catalog, Menu, Import) Close the simulator Check the content of the rxpGtnSim.dll.log file for any information.
June 15, 20205 yr I added the LogTrainer = 5 to the RealityXP.GTN.ini file of the Carenado PC-12 aircraft in P3D v5. I still do not have the import button. I've found the solution! Jean, I know the log was saying otherwise, I'm not a computer newbie, and I had assured the sim was NOT running as admin, or in any compatibility fix mode. Turned out it was not the problem. What happened is I had copied in that folder (C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\Databases\FPLN) a personal readme.txt file (on how to create a fltplan) and THAT WAS THE PROBLEM! By removing it, the import function was back. So I presume we cannot add anything else in that folder, except flight plans and the user.wpt file. Thanks for the help everyone! June 16, 20205 yr @zazaboeing This is great, thank you for your enduring patience! I wouldn't have been able to find you'd have anything else in the folder at all, so I'll keep this in mind in case this problem surfaces up in the future!
June 26, 20205 yr I have discovered the reason why I did not have import functionality when using the RealityXP GTN 750. The Simbrief downloader application does not include a RealityXP .gdp export option so I used the F1 .gdp export. The Simbrief downloader places a dash between the airport ID's (ex. KMOB-KNEW) in the .gdp file name which is not recognized by the RealityXP unit. Once I replaced the dash with an underscore (ex. KMOB_KNEW) I regained use of the GTN 750 import functionality and all my Simbrief exported flight plans are listed. June 27, 20205 yr @BigG433 Thank you for the additional information! Please understand the .gdp import capability is a trainer feature only which the real unit also has to permit you importing flight plans stored in a SD card. I'm quite surprised the file name has any influence (especially changing a '-' with a '_') because: The trainer is using standard Windows API to list all the files in the folder It is using standard Windows API to read them. There is nothing in the API precluding the use of a '-' symbol. Worth investigating indeed!

I replaced underscore characters with dashes. The result is in the image below. It is the import screen and take a look at the top flight plan in the listing. Dashes..... July 26, 20205 yr @RXP when GTN is installed fresh in a new PC, "Import" button under Flight Plan Catalog Menu is hidden even if there are valid .gfp files in C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\Databases\FPLN BUT the filename has "-" . When I renamed the file with "_" the Import button showed up! My hard drive died and had to fresh install and I was able to repeat this twice. What is more strange is once "import button shows up" subsequent files can than have "-" and it doesn't hide the Import button any more. The reason I came across this because I use a program called "Pilot2ATC" and by default the file format is ICAO-ICAO.gfp. This is very annoying for new users. Please investigate the code. July 26, 20205 yr Who do you wish to see investigate? RXP, which rides on the actual Garmin code/trainer; or instead Garmin? Is Garmin responsible for what Pilot2ATC programs?: or Pilot2ATC? I would first question the developers at Pilot2ATC for their implementation/use of a .gfp filespec. The Garmin .gfp filespec is tight and unyielding with its rules for compliance. It is up to developers to comply. A developer like RXP, which by adoption of the Garmin trainer itself, implements the Garmin trainer to a "T" and thus by adoption complies. It is the Garmin Trainer itself, fused into the simulator. I'd be talking to PIlot2ATC if I were you, or perhaps asking their community of licensed users on their support forums. Not sure if they have such a forum here, but they certainly must have such a forum themselves. Can you please point me to the spec documentation where it says such. This way it won't be unreasonable ask for the P2A developer who been working very hard for many years on these stuff.
