yea looks like some boring and basic major airports (only 24000 updated) once again. No mention of a revamped ATC that I could see, should be close to the top of the list.

Not at very exciting promo video at all, in my view.

I agree with most of the above - I think this versions success will depend largely on three things;

1. What sort of performance improvement exists

2. What sort of backwards compatibility exists for expensive complex addons (both scenery and aircraft)

3. Failing backwards compatibility, how much content will be available in the short term from established developers - this will probably depend n on how long they've had access to the sim and their desire to produce for both it and MS2020.

I didn't see too much on the changelist or video above that would have me move from a very well setup V4 to be honest - the performance improvements would need to be significant combined with available addons.

Just my 2c.

Not gonna happen. Vulkan doubled FPS for AMD cards only because AMD was so far behind when it comes to OpenGL performance. Nvidia cards are seeing maybe 20 - 30%.

I have a Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti and with X-Plane 11.50b in some areas have seen a performance leap from around 32 FPS to over 70 FPS, in other more built-up and building intense areas from 20 FPS to 39 FPS. And while performance is one aspect, I also noticed that Vulkan delivers a much crisper image, anti-aliasing seems much more effective now. Here are some 11.50b images of the X-Aviation TBM 900 at FL 280 over Orbx's UK scenery with PILOT'S FS Global Real Weather injecting weather to Skymaxx Pro via Real Weather Connecter:

Do you own the St Barts scenery for XP11?

I'm tempted reinstall XP11 to see if there's a performance improvement with that scenery that makes it flyable in VR now
