Not just grass, but sod too!

Did anyone notice the bare areas of the grass just over the rear of the DA42? It looks like they hadn't finished putting sod down yet:

That's how it'll look in most games where the ambient occlusion is applied to vegetation, like grass.

They stuck the aircraft on  a sat pic of a dry patch in my garden, where a sprinkler broke. Very realistic .

It looks like the blurry base satellite image to me in that ground patch, same as other flight sims.  There is no texture to it, or detail, maybe a bump map would help.

My brother has Coronavirus, confirmed by testing. On 3/26 he almost didn't survive the night.  He had extreme trouble breathing and was given a steroid inhaler.  He was very weak, had nausea, and other issues that aren't pleasant.  As of this update he is feeling much better, and seems he will be fine.  Stay safe out there.  (Updated 4/6)

I hope there *are* random bare spots, where climatically or seasonally appropriate.  That will allow even more variation in airport tarmacs.  Another thing I hope they do, is have a higher resolution base image around airports, or, short of that, have a bump map of some sort as @GlideBy mentions.

If they use the concept of "forest" poly/area like in the other simulator, then the density/coverage values will create either empty spots or a compact vegetation.
