Get this popup most of the time when I try using P3Dv5. No add-ons Default scenario. Anybody else seen this?

Try a clean un-install and then re-install your driver suite.  I had this once...and doing what I suggest did the trick.  Your driver installation could be 'dirty'....

Thank you. Hadn't considered Afterburner. I have the latest Nvidia driver installed. As luck would have it, when I restarted my computer after installing P3Dv5, MS started a Win10 update! I thought perhaps the Win10 might have screwed something up. I'll update Afterburner.

I've updated my drivers which didn't help. I've disabled MSI Afterburner which did not help. Is no one else having this problem? I'm using P3Dv5 HF1, NVidia driver 445.87, Win10v1909 build 18363.836.

Any additional input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Don

Try rebuilding the P3D.cfg file. P3Dv5 may have mis-identified your vid card.

It's possible that nothing you try will solve that crash; there are several pages of similar errors on the Prepar3D forum right now and there is no common thread, add-on, or cause connecting them.  You may end up spending several hours reinstalling drivers and trying to diagnose where this is coming from, and still see the same crashes.  Some people are not seeing these errors, or are reporting that they can minimize or eliminate the crashes by turning down settings, but others are not having the same success with those strategies.

It seems like the next Windows update might be successful in addressing this, but we have had no official guidance or statement from Lockheed-Martin other than that they are working on the next hotfix.  Personally, I am waiting on those two developments until I spend any more time with v5.

I installed Windows 10 version 2004 yesterday. Indeed P3D v5 now reports 7.1 GB of VRAM available but it is still very easy to use it all up and see the same message. Plenty of room for improvement yet, I think.

Shortly after posting a while ago, I have gotten the same error. I think it was because, after flying around in middle of US, I loaded up an ORBX PNW area and crash. I had sliders bumped up more than normal and had a wonderful flight, Then go to ORBX and "Uh-Oh!"

Ok at that point I'd suggest using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller, by Guru3D) and see if that helps.

I have a 1080ti with 445.87 and it's working.  I can't say it is working 100% because I too have had a CTD, although not the one you had.  If you haven't already, you might consider turning off Enhanced Atmospherics...as it is in beta.

Thanks to everyone for their feedback! I need to head over to the P3D forum as well. I tend to use Avsim as my “go to.” It is some how comforting knowing I’m not alone. I’m sure it will ultimately get worked out.

Cheers,

Don

Do you have RivaTuner Statistics server running?

I put V5 on another drive (D) and have less of the above problem...1080ti does everything else just fine but not this new V5 version.

Are you using anything that either overclocks it or does anything to the power settings.

Asus tweak

Afterburner

Asus suite

Etc etc?
