April 23, 20206 yr Why is it, I wonder, that P3Dv5 is displaying my amount of GPU memory as 5GB where in reality my GTX 1060 has 6GB on board? Can any of you shed some light on this, please? Thanks, Hans Kind regards, Hans van WIjhe Acer Predator P03-640 2.10 Ghz Intel 12th Gen Core 17-12700F 64GB memory, Noctua NH-U9S Cooler, 1.02 TB SSD HD, 1.02 TB HD, NVidia Geforce RTX 3070 16GB Memory, Windows 11 (x64)
April 23, 20206 yr Because P3D only displays the amount it has allocated for its own use. It won't display the full amount, because the rest is still reserved by Windows for itself and other applications. April 23, 20206 yr I really hope the hotfix makes the game usable for me and my 1060. 5800x3d Asus 4090 ROG Strix OC 2TB SSD 32GB Ram
April 23, 20206 yr What are your system specs? I think my 1600 mhz memory speed is holding me back big time. I can't seem to find faster memory, so will hold out and buy new system soon. https://www.prepar3d.com/system-requirements/ 10700k / Gigabyte 3060

In the meantime, if you feel like experimenting, the latest Windows 10 build (2004) actually allows P3D to provision even more VRAM, so you get a bigger overhead. April 23, 20206 yr If you look at any system monitor you will see that at idle with nothing running Windows will use a fair amount of VRAM. P3D is showing how much there is available to use. 9800X3D | 5090 | 64GB DDR5 | LG C2 42"

April 23, 20206 yr I'm having 3gb 1060 and running ngxu + uk extreme scenery + global + AIG 100% traffic around 30-40 fps. No AA though. Disabled autogen buildings too as never fancied them - misplaced and ugly. On V5 it takes VRAM hit too.
April 23, 20206 yr Here's to hoping. V5 is installed with some already compatible scenery. None of my planes are so I'm just waiting for more installers to get released as I slowly install things. Guess I'll have to get the NGXu if I want that plane. Or just fly the word not allowed out of whatever installer gets released first. 5800x3d Asus 4090 ROG Strix OC 2TB SSD 32GB Ram

P3Dv5 is running fine on my system, I only was curious to know why only 5GB out of 6GB was being displayed 🙂 Kind regards, Hans van WIjhe Acer Predator P03-640 2.10 Ghz Intel 12th Gen Core 17-12700F 64GB memory, Noctua NH-U9S Cooler, 1.02 TB SSD HD, 1.02 TB HD, NVidia Geforce RTX 3070 16GB Memory, Windows 11 (x64)

I'm running a 980ti and I've yet to have my VRAM usage go over ~4.1GB. This is with ENVTEX, ORBX regions/LC/Base and add-on planes. 9800X3D | 5090 | 64GB DDR5 | LG C2 42"
