What did you do to get it working? Mines parts of panel missing, throttle jitters. How did you install it?

I install most addons to dummy Prepar4D v5 folders.
In this case point the Careneado installer to P3D & V4, but browse to the dummy folder.
After the installer is done, copy / move all needed Folders & Files to your addons\Carenado  folder keeping the same structure.
Lastly make the add-on.xml file, and place it in C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\Carenado

Send me a PM if You want full instructions.

PC12 - SC337 Skymaster - 500S Aero commander and the H850XP. They all work fine in v4.

For v5 installed the patch and the aircraft but unfortunately all the VCs suffered the same fate. See screenshot link.

It says on its support page v4 or v4 and up.  I was also missing textures and I read in another post if you don't click on the v4 and then browse to v5 it will install the earlier prepard version of the plane. I was just browsing to my v5 directory and that was causing my issues.

Thanks, James, that did the trick! 😉

I installed the Premier 1A in v5 and applied the patch, and everything appeared to be in order (nothing missing).  However, I have seen CTD's with the Premier even after the patch, so I am not completely convinced the Proline stuff is fully robust in v5 yet.  There is also an issue with the Premier where there is significant stuttering until I cycle the battery switch, which leads me to believe there are some panel or gauge incompatibilties still present.  I uninstalled it, as I am now strictly limiting myself to addons that I am confident have been thoroughly tested in v5 (not just new installers or a patch).

Nice, will have a go with the C337H Skymaster.

Has anyone tried the Phenom 100 yet? Any luck?

Saitek X-55 Rhino - Track IR5 - Obutto Sim Cockpit + Triple Monitor Stand - Fancy some Techno? https://www.mixcloud.com/dj_bully/

So the Phenom 100 is working kind of. It will load in and all looks ok. But I cant get the center screen on the G1000 to turn on. I press the right hand button to turn it on, but it flicks on for a split second then flicks back to the startup screen.

I have installed with Lorby Addon Organizer using the xml method. Also installed the V5 patch in the Caranado Addons folder, and got the dll's.

I plugged in the dll's with Lorby, but I'm not sure if I need to do anything else. I pointed it to all 4 dll's.

Carenavigraph.dll

Carenavigraphx64.dll

CMeteoXml.dll

CMeteoXmlx64.dll

There is also this file:

CMeteoXml.dll.intermediate.manifest

Do I need to do anything with this?

I have C337H Skymaster working, thats the only 2 Caranado's I have.

Cheers,

           Bully.

  • 2 months later...

I know this thread is a little old, but I have just upgraded to P3D v5, and my little fleet of Alabeo and Carenado aircraft is working as expected, with no installation issues. I can confirm that the following Alabeo aircraft will work in P3D v5:

Beech D17 Staggerwing

C195 Businessliner

Gee Bee Model Z

PA-36 Pawnee Brave 375

Pitts S2-S

Sukhoi Su-26

WACO YMF-5

The Following Carenado aircraft are also working:

Beechcraft D18S

Bonanza V35B

Cessna C185 Skywagon Bush

C208 Grand Caravan and Super Cargomaster Expansion

PA-28-181 Archer II

PA-34 200T Seneca II

When I installed the aircraft to use with my older P3D v4 installation, I directed the installer to a remote folder on my SSD called 'Flight Sim Aircraft'. I then used the information in this link to create XML files directing P3D v4 to those folders. https://www.nzfsim.org/fsx-p3d-tweaks/add-ons-outside-p3d-root/

The instructions look a bit daunting, but it worked and was really easy. I know a lot of people don't seem to like the XML method but it's so much better than just dumping everything in your sim's default folder. You can put the scenery and objects anywhere you like and the XML file tells the simulator where to find it all. By installing aircraft by the XML method, it gives you the option to 'turn them off' in the simulator without having to uninstall them. So you only load up the aircraft you know you use a lot, and then you 'turn on' the novelty ones at the Scenario Selection screen when you want them.

Then comes the really cool bit! I used the Lorby SI tool to add the packages to P3D v5, using the XMLs I'd already made for v4. And it worked, flawlessly. Took about ten minutes to do all of them. No re-installing, I just used the Lorby tool to point the new sim at the existing packages. Every aircraft loads and I've flown them all. No missing instruments or panels. To be honest, I don't know why developers aren't using this method by default.

For what it's worth, I also used the same method to add a lot of freeware aircraft to P3D v5, and they worked perfectly too. B25 Mitchell, B26 Marauder, A20 Havoc, C-47 Skytrain, Nimrod etc. They all seem to be working fine. I did the same with some old Payware aircraft, with equal success - IRIS Christen Eagle, SPitfire IX& XIV, Flight Replicas Super Cub, Virtavia Gee Bee Sportster.

I don't know why installing them this way works where other methods don't. The only aircraft that had a minor issue was the B25 Mitchell. P3D v5 doesn't seem to have the 'callout' sound file it wants, so it uses a default from the installed aircraft, and pops up a message to tell me. Otherwise it works fine.

I'm using P3D v5 HF 2, lots of OrbX, GeForce GT1060 6GB, Intel Core i5 2500K @ 3.3GHz, 16GB RAM. Yes, really. My processor is 10 years old. And P3D v5 runs fine. I'm upgrading soon though, as the graphics card is hugely bottlenecked by the processor. I did not install the Carenado patch. I have now, but I have not tested the results yet.
