That's a pretty cool idea actually! Or forest fire smoke also affected by wind direction...

These are usually based on particles and they follow the wind direction as far as I know...

MSFS sure doesn't come from MS flight, but from FSX.

To be so sure about it, you must be Microsoft or Asobo employee?

But to be on topic, yes moving trees are very atmospheric, not to mention smoke coming from chimneys.

I think, there is no any reason why they should lie about this. They declared, that for begining of development MSFS they explored functions and code of FSX and some usable parts of this they used in MSFS. MS Flight has completely different philosophy. It was closed for 3PD add-ons, free to play mode with limited area, not included whole world, there was not support for advancet aircraft (like PMDG) etc. There is no reason, why they should build MSFS on MS Flight, because philosophy and functions of MSFS are much closer to FSX, than to MS Flight. MS Flight was only a big mistake and was not usable for hardcore simming 🙂

If you let something to be told, that's not exactly lying, is it? I can guess many reasons for that, considering the bad reputation of Flight. 😉

I'm not denying that they used some usable parts of FSX, but they most likely did use some from MS Flight too.

See how that works? 😉  It's best if we keep away from making unfounded assumptions as to the motivations of people who post speculation, lest it be turned around on us.

What is your source of this opinion? 🙂 And why they should use MS Flight, when MSFS philosophy and functionality is much closer to FSX, than MS Flight?

If Aerocatches show up in MSFS, we will know for sure 🙂 It's a joke people! It would be funny though.

I have watched the alpha version videos and screenshots and recognized some similarity to Flight, so no inside knowledge what so ever.

And why they should use MS Flight,

Flight missed many features of FSX, but those features it had, were more advanced than FSX, like graphics, flight model, realistic lighting, shadowing and weather straight out of box, no add on's needed.

So why would they whip dead horse when they have a fresher and healthier one?

The name is Aerocache and actually they are very educational and fun indeed, I hope they are in some form in this new product. I recommend them warmly, if you haven't tried yet.

Maybe when the product comes out we will know more.

Hello MS. What about chimney smoke affected by wind direction? 😄

Actually, this is something you really look out for in VFR flights. Would add another layer of immersion.

Chimney smoke that move with wind we allready had for ages in P3D.

Asobo have said themselves in a couple interviews that they started with FSX. Perhaps there was little benefit in using the Flight code as it was going to be mostly overhauled, if not completely replaced, anyways?

In default scenery? I only use XP, so excuse me if that is the case.

Happy with MSFS 🙂
