Anyone catch the leak posted on Reddit earlier?

Those tall trees in front of the runway at Sedona shouldn't be there... Should be bushes. In fact, all the trees shouldn't be there, looks more like a rain forest then the Grand Canyon.

Maybe Matthew is not all wrong after all 😋. Just sayin’

Happy with MSFS 🙂
home simming evolved

The poster is flying in offline mode isn't he? That may have something to do with the scenery.

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

Well if this is the case, it will be yet one of the 1000000000 similar cases in the virtual world of MSFS resulting from yet another example of the global procedural or rough data implementation for vegetation, infrastructure etc. And this is again to expect and very normal...

As a good practice, airports and airfields must have their close surrounding vegetation manually added during the airport creation. We usually exclude the procedural or global vegetation and add our custom vegetation types / zones based on photos...

But this is done usually in custom addon scenery... In the case of MSFS the big list of airports and airfields I doubt this is done.

If I remember well what they said early on, the autogen is the same only the imagery quality is downgraded in the offline mode.

Yes, this makes sense. The autogen (non photogrammetry) could be logically installed locally.

Why do you all presume it is in offline mode?

Aye, we all agreed. We just also said that we’re sure asobo too knows that it’s wrong lol

In many of the screenshots it says “offline scene mode” or something on the watermarks

I think the Courchevel and the stall video show offline mode as there’s no satellite imagery but landclass. But in the Sedona video you can clearly see Bing imagery, so I assume it‘s not offline mode.

i9-11900K, RTX 4090, 32 GB ram, Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo, TCA Airbus sidestick and quadrant, Reverb G2

In the video description it says it's online mode...

"Software environment Microsoft Flight Simulator Alpha 1.2.12.0 hardware environment i9 9900k, RTX2080 8G, c18 3600 8GB * 4, M.2 SSD (NVMe) picture quality settings: all highest landscape mode: online mode"

Sorry for failing to read.

I did not know they have an alternative generic world with generic textures for offline mode.

If this is the case then I suppose they use their engine's procedural terrain creation as it was the case with this Island with saw in one video.

I've watched all the leak videos a few times over now, and all I can say is WOAH.  Microsoft has been holding back on us with what they've shown so far, LOL!

Sure there are some things to nitpick here and there, like the tree coverage around Sedona, but 98% of what I saw was utterly incredible.

If I could pre-order it right now I would.

I agree 100% I’m actually more excited now after seeing the videos. This truely does look like the start of the next gen flight sims. Imagine after all the add ons etc plus big fixes/corrections before and after release.

Can’t wait!
