Yeah Toronto is in the middle of the Desert now, which really irks me. No excuse for this screw up.

Good for you Rhett. Sounds like others' mileage will vary. And what's "great" for some may not fly for others, pardon the pun. I'm sure it's fine I just ain't dying to jump in at this point so will try to wait. Not worth the bother is all Rhett. The other big thing is that I do not want to upgrade to XP to run FSX as Win2K is working lean and mean and it meets all my other needs. I skipped XP and will also wait til Vista comes along. I DO look forward to Vista, and hope it's decent right out of the box God help us! I have used XP at work for years, but again, at home, this guy works just fine and runs all software I use just great.

>Yeah Toronto is in the middle of the Desert now, which really>irks me. No excuse for this screw up.>This is my main gripe with FSX that Desert effect problem in so many parts of the world. As people start flying around more it will be a big sore spot because of the way it just flat stands out.

Well thanks you then for another well thought out contribution. If there would be only people like you around, we would probably still buy addons for Flightsimulator 98. I am sure you are going to tell us around 2010 how much you still enjoy Fs9. ( by the way.. they have their own cheerleader forum!!)

Always pissing someone off...Interesting. Acutally.. I think I

Well the places I fly certainly aren't desert.James

I was actually answering skyking. I think you have your points as well as I have mine... Everybody is entiteld to his opinion and you explained your concerns in an ample way. I just don't like empty posts without any sense... so you didn't #### me off....and I agree on your thoughts about the landclass,,,the should have brought the pyramids!!Good luck to you too

>Second, don't>they get fed up with spending extra money on top for addons>when we have already purchased the addons on the FS9? This point always perplexes me. Do EULAs for commercial addons come with a promise to work on all successive versions of Flight Simulator after the one for which it was specifically designed? I've got a few myself, and for the life of me, I don't see any indication of that. Commercial developers are under no obligation to extend the life of their products over multiple versions of Flight Simulator free of charge. I would hope that everyone who buys a FS addon understands this before making the purchase, because it's awfully presumptuous to believe otherwise.

"...Well the places I fly certainly aren't desert...."Well bully for you Jimbofly. MS love uncritical peole like yopu. If we all adopted your attitude nothing would ever get fixed. Try Italy if you want to see a how Europe might look when global warmimg has done its stuff. MS did say it was a flight simulator for the future!

So you come in here to tell everyone you're not going to buy FSX?***FLASH***** News alert!!yawn....

Eric Thornton

I was under the impression that there wasn't that much desert, but then I tried flying through a lot of the US and I retract my above statement!Looks very deserty indeed! Hopefully someone (maybe MS?) will provide a fix for this!James

>My question to all those people who have already bought the>FSX is, first are they really, truly happy. Second, don't>they get fed up with spending extra money on top for addons>when we have already purchased the addons on the FS9?Yes; I am truly happy with FSX. I'm having more fun and sense of flying than I have with FS9 by far. I just have to put those sliders a bit to the left for now... And don't even get me started on the great potential for FSX in the near future. Haven't been this excited over a product in a long time. Good stuff.Besides, I still have FS9 installed for those times I feel like flying in my addon planes and my customized home area (I expect FS9 to be booted out of my computer as soon as people start making addons and area customizations/improvements).
