Will all these airports be created by the msfs developers?

i hope at the very least this puts pressure on some.  I mean we have some of the biggest airports in the world that still have terminals that have been demolished.

My local airport I envy you!... I mean can I ask what it was like in a none NDA breaking way 😊 Does it need an UK2000/Aerosoft makeover?

The default airports are way improved over the first Alpha.  Massive improvement.  Obviously there are "stock" buildings, but the terminals vary at different airports.  The airports buildings and terminals appear to be in the right places and have nice textures etc. The ground textures and grass is very good.  More ground clutter and vehicles and cars can be added but overall it's looking good from what I saw so far.

I remember seeing videos of a gsx like experience for MSFS.  Is that going to be included with msfs?

If you saw an official video then it must be right.  I only did limited flying in heavies so far.  My favorite planes are the TBM and Beechcraft.

It would be interesting to see a screenshot of a default airport once the NDA is lifted. Manchester (EGCC) is a popular UK airport but isn't one of those listed as having received special attention. Microsoft has show-cased just a fraction of those available. Seeing how well a default airport is modelled will be revealing.

I'm with you Ray.  I fly predominantly smaller to mid-sized GA airports .  I worked through a learning curve with ADE and spent considerable time recreating KBMG in Bloomington, Indiana, USA, because the default airport showed little true resemblance to the real world. I had to use buildings and objects from multiple object libraries that were created by 3rd parties as freeware.  At least I came close.  I just counted 183 such GA sized airports I currently have installed.  Most user-created freeware.  I have flown into each of them, which is why I have them.  Perhaps 30 of them I fly into often.

So far I have not seen a single video or screenshot that shows any detail from aerial views or ground views of any one of those. Makes me wonder if the NDA perhaps restricts that..

Frank, I'd like to think that the thousands of modelled aerodromes / airports would at least be an improvement on those in FSX/P3D. If you have to enhance your own that could involve a considerable expense to buy the software. Until the NDA is lifted we're not going to be able to see these "minor" airports. Of course Microsoft wants us to buy it so the big cities and their airports get the special treatment. I am somewhat surprised there aren't more though given the hefty asking price for all 3 versions. I'm sure many of us would have swapped one default GA for another 50 airports.

Anyway, Orbx, Aerosoft, Carenado, PMDG, Justflight and some otherS yesterday or today confirmed they are working since months with Asobo to prepare their aircrafts and/or sceneries for MSFS 20.... For sure soon we will see the first addons coming 😉

@Ray Proudfoot I am somewhat hopeful that Asobo will release an airport editor tool later that will make it easy to upgrade whatever airport you desire by adjusting surfaces and adding/moving buildings and other assets, then share it with the community through an in-sim interface (a bit like Steam workshop).

Not for me I’m afraid. I just want to fly. I’ll leave that to the people who have the skill. Plus, you need photos of the buildings you want to create and those can be difficult to acquire.

Yes, completely agree. That is my local international airport so I am very excited to see how it appears.
