July 29, 20205 yr Hello, Since I'm moving into V5.0 this weekend (FSLAbs recent additions made jealous), I would appreciate either a link to the specific topic or recommendation on how to set NVidia parameters for both global and P3D profile. Would really appreciate your help 9950X3D, X870E ROG CROSSHAIR HERO, Corsair Dominator Titanium 64GB DDR5-6000 PC5-48000, ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16GB, 9100 PRO 4TB Samsung ,990 PRO 4TB Samsung, AX1600i 1600 Watt 80 Plus Titanium ATX, ASUS 360 ARGB EXTREME 360mm Liquid CPU Cooling Kit.
July 29, 20205 yr There's nothing to change, really, unless you want to use Nvidia's FPS limiter. I used to set "Prefer maximum performance" until someone here posted a link refuting that idea.

Would really appreciate your help Yes, this is a really simple question to answer. Leave the NVidia settings at default. Also, resist the urge to tweak the sim config, it really isn't necessary. July 30, 20205 yr in the old days (V4) I had many changes. Now basically stock other than changing my refresh rate under the change resolution section. The more I read about DX12, the more I think this is the right approach. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

July 30, 20205 yr Commercial Member If making changes with Nvidia Control Panel, use the 3D Settings and in the Global Settings tab, default the Global profile first by using Restore/Apply. Next go to the Program Settings tab and choose the Prepar3D.exe profile, make any change, Apply it, then Restore/Apply. This ensures that the bit list is factory set to your latest driver installed. Now you are ready to make changes in the Prepar3D.exe profile, don't use the Global Settings tab. Any settings that are already found in Prepar3D Display settings, only use those and do not use similar sounding settings in NCP Prepar3D.exe profile. Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com

However, after updating the Nvidia driver on both my machines, they both started the DXGI hang problems. The only change I made to fix that was to perform that procedure above. After that the DXGI hangs were absent. So before making changes ensure you are starting from a fresh setup. Use of similar sounding setting in NCP that are already in P3D Display Settings can result in problems because the simulator might perform other tasks when you use the setting given in the simulator.
