Can FSX and FS2020 co-exist?

Featured Replies

Searched and got no hits on this topic.  Does anyone know if FSX and FS2020 can exist on the same computer or is it one or the other?

Curious

Yes but why

FSX | DCS | X-Plane 11 | MSFS 2020 | IL2:BoX

Favorite aircraft currently: MSFS Savage Cub

Yes they can. In fact as long as you have space, you can have FSX, FSX SE, P3D V3 v4 & V5, XPlane, etc.

Enjoy them all!

Ramón.
Time, is the one thing no one can buy.

Probably yes, but they won't like each other very much. 😊

It's sure, yes. MSFS is a completely new software and it has nothing to do with FSX. But I think, if you try MSFS, there will be not any way back to FSX 🙂

I'll vouch for that, I have FSX, P3Dv3, P3Dv4, P3Dv5, X-plane, Aerofly FS2 and the MFS beta all living together happily on a single drive.

Thanks all.  It was not a question of why, just whether I could (just in case) 😄

No, but FSX and MSFS can.

Of course they can. But why would you want to?

Let's get back to that question next week. 😏

If you have the space you can keep an old sim around for reference.  Say for trying to duplicate an old behavior in FS2020.

It won't be long before it becomes irrelevant but just leave it and do a full new install on a super-fast NV-ME drive.

Cheers

Actually, some of Rod's ground school material in FSX makes for good reference material.

Matt

I'm actually thinking about reinstalling P3D 4 with some of my OrbX stuff, simply for screenshot comparisons of particular regions.

I can get back to that question years ago. FSX is a relic.
