Yuk... "gamer face" is an automatic turn-off.

Question for anyone over 40:  Is that video any good?  Should I watch it?

I may be over 40 - maybe, but if so not by too much.

But when I said Devon's last posted video sucked, people around here got angry and assumed that I was dissing the sim.

So you're going to have to watch the video yourself, Hook!

And when I asked what I was spending my $200 on by upgrading P3D to v5, people got angry and assumed I was dissing the sim.

Uh huh.  I got just two words for you... 😄 😄

Hang in there, it's bound to get better.

Yeah, I think we exchanged fire a long time back in some Prepar3d thread, it's OK Hook and I'll definitely let you fly the 337 even though you never upgraded to v5! (you half convinced me to get one with your 'carpe diem' comment, even though daughter wants a puppy and shoes first)🙂

As for videos - there are hundreds out there about MSFS. I think it's good to stick to the ones by people who actually know a bit about aviation so you can actually learn something. If one wants wants to see some gumby making a mess of things as he flies around the scenery, they can do that themselves later today.

This is a great one.

She lands it better than some of the Alpha testers. . .

My god, what did you just make me watch??

Landing was not good, it was messy, very messy.

Although this video took away my will to live, I have two daughters so who knows, maybe this might convince them to fly MSFS.

Oz, just enjoy it for what it is, sorry, I should have said; a glass of wine (or sedative of your choice) is strongly recommended whilst viewing.

Theoretically, she walked away from the landing which means it was a good landing. . .(not!)

On a serious note; we've got a bunch of new people coming along and doing this. If nothing else it'll guarantee good product development going forward. We have our beloved Devs doing what they can for us in the short/ med/ long term.

There's nothing not to celebrate as we rapidly approach the birth of this new age.

I will admit to being more than jealous at all of the truly wonderful product she (and other "influencers") got for free, but I did find her at least charming.

I suspect she actually was pretending to be a complete noob though... 😳

Still, I'd argue it's a better landing than some real world pilots can manage... 🤣

You horrible old cynic n4.

Though I suspect you're probably right. It was a very polished display of incompetence wasn't it?

It's all good. 🙂  I didn't pre-order MSFS and I haven't decided when I'm going to buy it, but it will be great for some sightseeing.  But I'm serious about avoiding it if you intend to stick with an older sim.

With all the new fliers showing up we'll be seeing a lot of bad landings and such.  We might even see a 747 flying inverted under the Golden Gate Bridge.  That's all good too.  I think it's gonna be fun.

Yes it was. I noticed that several times she executed a keyboard command without even pausing to think about it...

Nice conspiracy theory, but I checked her channel and I think she genuinely knows nothing about aviation:

"Her content is mainly videos about her day to day activities. They showcase her personality, travels and love for animals."

She seems decidedly more keen on Animal Crossing than MSFS.

Asobo, why did you send a bunch of quality flightsim hardware to the person who says ""I make videos about my life. I like video games, tech, traveling, and candy.", rather than to me?? Was it the "Occupy Redmond" thing, or are you looking to engage some weird Animal Crossing/Aviation Simulation demographic? I can post videos of me baking cakes as well if that would make you reconsider.

Whilst my will to live has failed to return, I still like her video more than the first one in this thread.
